Overclocking Q8200

yeah it might be good best to go for top of the range stuff tho to get the best results, also i once had problems with temps when i didnt have it held down strong enuff

did you spread your tim or just put a dollop and sit the cooler ontop?

I beleive I spread it just a bit but I'm not sure. I'm used to spreading it although I know simply putting a drop in the middle and letting the heatsink do the rest of the work is the way to go ;)

i usually spread it myself just to be sure incase i dont put enough on, might be worth takin the cooler off and checkin it to see if its got enuff on there when u get your hands on some good tim

Yeah I might just do that, but for now I'm happy with the results. It took 10 degrees off of my load temps compared to the TX-3, and that's pretty much the same result reviewers get.

Coolermaster Hyper TX3 high 23.2 14.0 56.0

Prolimatech Megahalems (50CFM) high 16.8 10.2 45.1

Prolimatech Megahalems (80CFM) high 15.0 9.2 53.0

stick al the fans on high,or get some noctuas

exactly what i was thinkin mate, i have a few tricools here and i dont really like them at all i took them out my old antec 300 case and replaced them with noctuas

Noctuas? No. You see, I like a PC that performs good while looking good at the same time. And noctuas would destroy the looks of my rig xD

What do you think of Xigmatek fans? The orange 120mm fans:D

noctuas might not be the best lookin ones out there but if ppl see them they will know u know what ur doing having top of the line fans

the best performance does come at a cost mate just save up for them and u definitely will notice the difference and if you want to oc your cpu more then this will give you better temps therefore more room to play with, plus you forked out on an utterly beastish cooler y not give it the fans it should have? to make it perform like it should

just save up mate make it the next project you will be doing to your rig and u will see the benefit, use your pocket money :rollingla

it did it in 15 seconds flat, but that was at 3.33ghz with corsair xms2 @ 800mhz never tried with it at 3.4ghz with my new OCZ @ 1197mhz b4 i put it back to 3.2ghz
