Overclocking problem

Using clockgen I can get a solid o/c at 255Mhz fsb x 11 multiplier giving me 2.805Ghz and a Super pi 1M score of 32.062s. CPU-Z memory tab shows the memory frequency to be the same as the fsb so all is good.

However if I do a manual o/c in the bios with the same settings CPU-Z memory tab shows memory frequency to be half of the fsb and therefore my Super pi 1M score shoots up to 39 or 40s!

So whats the problem, am I missing something glaringly obvious? I haven't set a memory divider up cause I can't even find one in the bios! Unless of co**** its at a default divider when o/c'd and I don't know where to look!

Any idea's?

Its a Asus A8N SLI Deluxe mobo

Cheers in advance.

The Asus board adjust the ram dividers automatically for some reason - it's been a while since I used an a8n-sli - but remember the trouble I had.

Upodate to the latest BIOS - it should help resolve the issue you are experiencing.

The other thing to do is to make sure that you set memory from auto to 200mhz (or 1:1) in the BIOS options - that should resolve the divider issue also.

cheers
