Overclocking on Gigabyte SINXP1394

Okay i recently installed this mobo which was given to me and im trying to overclock the 2.8 p4 i have... but in bios i have to enable linear frequency control to change the CPU clock... and when i do the Dram clock also changes is it safe for me to be doing that ? like now i have it at 21*144 and the dram has changed to 361. Cheers

What is your ram rated at? Ie PC3200, PC2700, PC4000 etc

Wait a sec, how is the ram @ 361 if ur at 21x144?? Your ram should be 144 or lower depending on if you have a multiplier set, it should never be higher unless ur running an upwards multiplier which are almost impossible to use.

dude i dont know lol... all i know is this bios on this board wont let me adjust the cpu without adjusting the dram the option is like:

enable linear frequency control.. if u disable it u cant touch the cpu, if u enable u can change the cpu clock but then the memory clock changes too

so basically i just got owned by my motherboard and i cant OC unless i by memory that can run at the crazy speeds it sets it to when i change CPU frequency?
