Well, depends what you're going to be tweaking i guess.

Here is a guide to overclocking intel proccies link

Not sure how far you'll be able to push it, just follow the guide and work out where it stops being stable.

Regarding cooling, just see how it goes. If the temp gets too hight then get better cooling or calm down on the overclocking. Rearanging the fans and cable tidying might help though.

That is all

Hello gmayell and welcome to OC3D. I moved this thread to a more appropriate part of the forum, and one where it will get the most attention.

As for overclocking your current setup, the guide that Pseudonym linked you to is a really good starting point. Are you using the Intel reference heatsink or an aftermarket one? While the Intel heatsink is ok, you will get better cooling performance from one made by Scythe, Thermalright etc.

hi managed to overclock the cores to 2.7 each from 2.4. running stable, temps are ok. used orthos to put processor through its paces. also temps running at about 56 using the standard fan i got with the q6600 processor. will get a better fan, what one would you recommend on ebay? thanks for all your help guys much appreciated
