Overclocking MSI r6950 Twin Frozr II OC Edition

Guys,

I've tried overclocking my r6950 to not much avail. I have however, unlocked the shaders to the r6970 specification via a bios flash.

I can't seem to push the core to 900mhz and the memory to 1300mhz (using MSI afterburner or Sapphire Trixx + voltages to 1200 when overclocking). After reviewing the card on this site I've noticed that you've got this card past 900mhz on core an above what i've reached on the memory.

Yes, i do realise that you have tested this card on a different setup to mine but i'm sure that I could attain higher clocks?

Any enthusiast tips? I wouldn't mind pushing it abit more for BF3.

for me to be able to overclock that card i had to push the voltages all the way up to 1.250, got it at 950 core 1400 memory

Use MSI afterburner for one. Second raise the wattage 5% in CCC. Third OCing the memory will give you virtually NO performance gains and is usually the cause of OC failure.
