Can anyone in the community walk me through how to overclock my cpu? I have never overclocked a processor, so please forgive my lack of knowledge in advance :p.

System Specs:
Intel® Desktop Board DX79SI
i7 3820 w/ h100i
EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Classified w/ EVGA ACX Cooler 3GB
Corsair RM750
16gb (4 x 4gb) Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400mhz

You could start reading "M&P overclocking experience".We all have to gain some knowledge before we start oc`ing, and it`ll be easier when you know the motherboard bios.

I didn't think Intel still made motherboards lol. Just bump multiplier or turbo boost or what ever they call it .1mhz, run Prime95 for about 15 minutes to test stability. Once you BSOD bump the voltage .05v until you no longer BSOD and so on. Keep doing this until your temperatures exceed your cooling unit. And don't go .2v over stock until you know what you are doing. Once you learn that then come back again :)

Of course testing stability is a bit more strenuous and different application will do different things but that is just the nature of overclocking.

I read the article and I think I have a pretty good understanding of the terminology. What clock speeds should I be expecting out of the i7 3820?

What temperature should I try not to exceed when running prime95?
