matx case to hold a gtx980 and Hydro H100i GTX?

Finners

Hi,
I am doing a new build but I want to keep it small due to lack of space in the room the pc will be situated.

I expect to use the following components: -
EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0
Asus Maximus VII Gene
i7 4790K
Teamgroup Vulcan Red 16GB 2400MHz
EVGA Supernova GS 650w PSU
Corsair Hydro H100i GTX

I initially thought I would use a Corsair Carbide 240 but I am going off the idea as it has no room for ODD and the side panel is so close to the gpu power connectors. The gpu quick release latch thingy doesn't appeal to me either.

I am not particularly fussed about it having a window either.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks

Cases that interest me are: -

Fractal Design Node 804 - The problem I foresee is the slimline odd appears to be only accessible from the right side of the case therefore if the case is up against a wall you'll have to move the case all the time to put a disc in.

The only case I can think of is the node 804 by fractal design. It has space for a slim ODD and support for radiators

Easy just use an External Optical Drive.

I have one as I use it with my laptop that doesn't have a optical drive fitted. I totally hear what you guys are saying but if I am going to use a odd then I might as well have it fitted in the case.

Having said that if I cant find a case with space for an odd and the ability to fit a h100i gtx then I will have to go with an external drive.

:)

I think I might have had a change in direction. I am now considering getting a mini itx board with no change in the other components.

I'm liking the Corsair Obsidian 250D Mini ITX Case

Wouldn't that case be too high or is it the right height for what you're planning.

Well an internal DVD burner does tend to be half the price of an external one, nevermind quicker and look cleaner on your desk if you want to have it plugged in at all times anyway, so I can see where Finners is coming from, even if I personally dislike them too. Mainly cause they take up a lot of unnecessary space inside the case and look horrendous.

Either way, I think the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv would be a great µATX for you, or maybe the Fractal Arc Mini R2. If you want to go ITX, personally I am not a massive fan of the 250D and there are quite a lot of alternatives on the market.

I've merged them for you this time.

I was really looking for a case that didn't have any windows and I see the 250D has one on the top. Shame.

I will look at the cases you mention.

Noted about the double post. noob error I know :)
