Hi,
I've been trying to overclock my FX-8150 pass 4.2 GHz. I can reach up to 5.0 GHz on full load with the heat less then 75 C. My problem is that after 4.2 GHz even if i go up by 0.1 GHz the system is unstable no matter what i do....Increasing the voltage, lowering nothing i do can make it stable...I know its not a heating problem...So i must be doing something wrong.
OR
Is that my motherboard that makes it unstable
TECH SPECS:
CPU: FX-8150
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 660ti
MB: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+
HDD: 750 GB - 7200 RPM(OS) there's more but, unnecessary to post them
COOLER: ZALMAN LQ-320 - Liquid Cooler
RAM: 16 GB Rip Jaws
I overclock with AMD overdrive, and also using the bios
WHAT i want to know what am i doing wrong, and how can i achieve a successful stable OC at 4.8 GHz.
Thanks for all your help
NOTE: do i have to OC the ram because i never did, is OC the ram necessary for higher OC levels?
higher OC
