overclocking and stability?

well im on the verge or purchasing my new graphics card ( ati radeon 9800xt pro)

the core clock speed is 500mhz when i get it im going to give it a hefty overclock and if the voltage remains the same, temperature wise will it increase and also in regards to it crashing in games how safe am i?

reps for help, if your a mod a big pat on the back

Well you should overclock it in small increments until you find the maximum stable OC.

Heta will be a factor, but you keep working on the OC will you find a happy place! ;)
 
:offtopic: You got a 9800XT on your $300 budget, you da man :worship: Where???? I need one for my boy's computer
 
Yeah Joshua is 5 but he plays Quake 3 Arena like a mofo. Thats a nice find, but like you said its 128 instead of 256. That should still pump out some reasonable FPS for ya

haha, your son is a very lucky person to be playing computer games at that age, to even have a computer and to have a great father who knows everything about computers... i didnt get my first computer till i was in year 4 1999 lol that was a fair 7 years ago

if you do feel like saving a bit of money..

buy a 9800pro, an ati silencer and flash it to an XT. will work just aswell and you can spend the extra money on erm.....something
