EDIT: Or try your old password if you havent already. There was a temporary problem with password changes earlier this evening.

It's not working!

I can't send you PM! When I log in I can't choose the option.

When I'm offline then I can see

Can you try logging in again for me. I think i found the problem with your (and 10 or so) other peoples accounts

Can I have mine please? I don't see the notice in my CP. Maybe because I haven't posted 15 messages yet?

It shouldnt depend on post count. If you click the Edit Options link highlighted black on the first post in this thread, it will take you to where you need to be.

Thanks, Jim! I was able to open my email right away. Nice feature! Can I use my Gmail to access my fps webmail?

I'm not familiar with GMail, but if it supports checking of other IMAP/POP accounts then yes it should work fine.

I suppose you could get people using it for spam purposes etc, and if it's coming from @overclock3d.net then it looks official - can be misused.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.. could've been slightly more related though, mhz could be anyone..

Exactly. I didn't want the domain to look anything like Overclock3D as it could be easily abused.

Both the fps.ms and mhz.ms have links to what we enjoy as a community (first person shooters / frames per second / CPU speed) while also being the shortest possible domains available for registration and rolling off the tongue quite nicely.

The purpose of the service is not necessarily to make new people aware of Overclock3D, but to provide existing members with a useful tool that is only a stones throw away from one of their regular websites.

SMTP is up and running at this end now

Still can't send mails from here, I tried with and without AUTH (using same settings as for pop3)

Anything I'm missing on the settings, it just hangs on "finding host" until time out.

:(

It sounds possibly like your ISP is blocking port 25 (SMTP). This is quite a common thing as ISP's like to control what mail servers you send your email from in an effort to reduce spam.

An easy test to perform is going to the command prompt in windows and typing:

telnet mail.mhz.ms 25

If it just times out then your ISP (or possibly even your firewall) is blocking you from using our SMTP server.

You can of course use our IMAP/POP3 settings in conjunction with your ISP's SMTP server if this is the case.

All of my other mail accounts use smtp port 25 without a problem (o2.co.uk and Blueyonder.co.uk)

This is the message I get after the time out:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account: 'Rover3500 mhz', Server: 'mail.mhz.ms', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

The telnet command doesn't work in my cmd panel, is this a vista 64 issue or does telnet need to be installed seperately ?

There is a service for telnet, so this will need enableing.

You can start it by either going through services.msc

or using net start telnet

or if its disabled

sc start Tlntsvr

When using Service Control (sc) you need to use the key name. To get this you run

sc getkeyname <service>

HTH

I would also try to ping the mail server: 212.69.36.86

Ah ye, Microsoft removed telnet from Vista and Win7 the bloody fools. I forgot about that :(

Does IMAP/POP work ok?
