Seems that Ubisoft give peoples accounts away to anyone now

As the topic states, my Ubisoft account has been given to some guy who submitted a support ticket with them to request an email and password change. All they had to provide was the username, email and DOB and Ubisoft will fulfil their request.

Apparently a while ago Ubisoft were compromised and customer information was gained. They recommended changing your password when it happened which I did and thought nothing of it after that.

So yesterday while I was at work, I was getting emails from Ubisoft with support ticket confirmation and the conversation between Ubi support and the guy claiming it was his account and saying that his (my) email account was hacked so he didn't have access to all the information that they requested but they went ahead and changed the email address and password anyway.

So now I no longer have access to my account and goes to show that with some info, you can easily take someones account.

I'm going to call them today, they open at 12 and get this sorted and if/when I get my account back, I'm thinking of just closing it down and not Using Ubi or buying their games anymore.

Thats what I would do TBH but it is really bad that someone can do this

Well after 20 minutes on the phone to Ubisoft support, I now have recovered the account and the person who dealt with the other guy's ticket shouldn't have done what he did with the info provided. I have the emails so do I make a complaint about the employee who gave my account away?

Absolutely mate, it's personal information and if they did that with so little information as a security precaution... then I'm wondering...

Plus, they made you sit on the phone for 20 mins for something you've not even done... doesn't the phone call cost you a little penny as well? :p
