Overclock a 2500k to 4.5 possibly 4.8 max

I´m going to be purchasing a 2500k in a week or two with an Asus maximus IV Gene-z/Gen3, and i was wondering what cooler anyone would recommend to keep my 2500k frosty at 4.5 or even 4.8, The ram i will be getting will be either g.skill ripjaws or corsair vengeance. I have been mainly considering a Be Quiet Dark Rock Advanced, then i saw the h20 620 was withing my budget but i´ve not heard much about that.

I know pretty much 99% of the forum says get a NH-D14, but my budget is only £40 (i am the 1%) and either of the coolers i´ve been thinking of fits within said budget. So would anyone know whats better out of the two, or even a better cooler within my budget?

save up til you can get something good dont skimp now the D-14 is great for what you want to do. The H2O 620 wont do what you want. And I doubt the Dark Rock can handle that as well. I havent researched the Dark Rock extensively so I may be in error.

What will your rig be used for?? I ask because pushing it to 4.8GHz is fun but at the volts you may need to sustain it might not be great. If your just gaming go for 4.5GHz and be happy thats where I run mine at for 24/7 use. The extra 300MHz wont give ya much extra in the gaming realm.

Can you afford a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro? Its a better performer than the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Advanced. Havik 140 is also a good heatsink, and NZXT is suposed to launch the Havik 120 soon. Not sure about the exact launch date.

How much extra is the Pro version, i could save the extra little bit.

It will be for gaming so year it will porbably stick at 4.5GHz, i´ve heard lots of good thinks about Be Quiets coolers, even Tom Logan said they´re pretty good. I am also abit cautious about the D-14 in a BitFenix shinobi on a m-ATX board.

Here where i live the advanced costs 54£ and the pro around 72£. 3-4 degrees less under load might not be worth the 18£ more.

Thinking about it now, i looked at my whole system budget again and i probably will go with the D14, just heard about the issue of the fan clips litteraly resting on the pcb of the graphics card.

having just built my new rig in a shinobi yesterday. i looks like panel wont fit, but ther is about 5mm between the nhd-14 and the side panel!! but @ 4ghz with only the stock fans in the shinobi im hitting 58c after 1hr on prime
