Overclock 3770k at 5Ghz!?

Hi guys. New here.

I got a 4770k o7 and i overclock the base clock to 4.2Ghz, but it shows 5Ghz on task manager, is it normal?

Can it be boosting to 5GHz perhaps? Ie, single threaded performance can boost the clock higher if it feels there’s enough headroom.

Ignore Task Manager it reads the clocks wrong as soon as you overclock. Use CPUZ.

It was telling me the other week that my CPU was running at 4.5ghz even though it can only clock to 2.9. It's something to do with the Turbo Boost function confusing Windows.
