Hi All

Iv recently received my second Gigabyte HD 7950 and i decided to put a little over clock on them using MSI Afterburner, once i had Applied my overclock the display drivers crashed and my screen started to flicker black, is this because iv overclocked them too much or could there be another reason as to why this is happening?, also my new card has come at a different default clock speed then my first one will that make a difference when overclocking them in a Cross Fire config?

'a little overclock' ? :p please be more clear.
Also state the default clocks of both cards please.

My friend, I believe it is not necessary to open the same thread in two different subforums ;)

As mentioned though: We need more info.

My first card came at a default clock of 900 MHz and is now at 1000 MHz (i did not overclock this card) and the memory clock is at the default 1250 MHz, My new card that i got today came at the same default settings as the other and but the gpu clock is at 900 MHz, I want both of my cards to be clocked at 1000 MHz but every time i try to up my gpu clock to 1000 MHz on AfterBurner the display drivers crash.

Have you tried running a lower overclock (say, 950 for example)?
Or just running the card you wish to overclock on its own without the first one (the one that's already oc'ed) in the system?

This sounds a bit like the second card just can't do 1000 MHz, but I'm not an expert with overclocking Radeons and what they can usually achieve.

to answer your question your cards should auto clock down to the slower speed one in a crossfire setup you may also be able to overclock them both using the default overclocking utility inside catilyst control centre its called "overdrive" you have to manually enable it.

i also find it more stable than afterburner on my system i got it to 1155mhz from 1000 which was default without adding any volts my card on stock turbos to 1100mhz anyway so after testing etc i just let it be and reset it to stock :D
