Or... 34% of Steam users are still on four year old O/S's and they like it and it works pretty well.

No hate - I'm on ten ;)
I can't access the stats atm but I think there'd be a higher percentage of people on 8/8.1 updating to ten than people still on seven after all this time.

I think the Windows 10 free upgrade launch was a fantastic business approach to getting all windows users to a single platform.

Generally speaking i've had very few issues with windows 10 on my desktop or laptops so it's not been full of teething issues at least in my experience.

Also great news for gamers as we can hope that high adoption will encourage developers to really utilise DX12

Definitely a bonus and a great way to be able to bring forward a few older operating systems to EOL. The downside is the larger corporates who are usually slower to upgrade due to all the dedicated systems and specialised software. We only moved from xp to 7 a few years ago and I work in a local govt area.

For home and small businesses it was a real win.
Yeah one or two teething issues and I got stuck in a repair loop of death but can't put that down to anything specifically to do with the upgrade.

That would be me I'm pretty lazy and 7 works well for me so until I have to I will stay with 7. The stats aren't perfect though as Steam hardware survey isn't mandatory remember.

Just moved to 10. It plays games and browses so I'm happy. I'm not that fussy and didn't mind Windows 8/Vista though so... Haha

I had to do a clean install of 10 really - 7 doesn't have native nvme support and doing a clean install of 7 on an nvme drive would have been painful.

Still have to sort out the mobo drivers, get it to recognise my old expensive graphics monitor properly - but it boots quickly and I intend to make it faster, leaner and sleeker
