Origin account compromised

So.. just got a nice text saying ' Also any particular reason your origin acc been on and of bf4 without you being home? '

:O

So yeah, it got 'Russiand' ...

Have restored my access and changes all the security and email and stuff, but it's worrying that it had my paypal attached to it, so that's been unlinked and had the password and email changed.

Not a happy bunny, they were using it for BF4, they've been playing for what looks like a few days, they weren't even very good! (At least they didn't get it banned I guess)..

urgh.

Aye I think I've got it covered, changed any passwords associated with it, hooked it up to another email addy and have turned on text authentication...

Not cool!

This reminds me, I've not logged into my origin account for a while, although I do have 2-factor authentication enabled.

Better check to be sure.

Would be good if EA implemented something like Steam has i.e Steam Guard so a code gets sent to your email address and you have to put that in before anyone can get access from a new location.

I got an email from EA about a month ago about my Origin account to become an EA account did anyone else get that email, Funny thing is i don't even have an Origin account anymore.

Yeah I did too, it's interesting because I'm sure I remember getting one years back saying EA account to become origin account, lol.

TBF Steamguard has its flaws too. I lost £500+ worth of Dota 2 cosmetics, steamguard should have an option to send a confirmation email when any change has been made to your account regarding notifications.
Glad nothing was done to your origin account.

This happened to me about 6 weeks ago although I think I'm proper fcked. My username and security question/answer were changed. I was able to stop EA from changing my email but the username is still different and I can't change it as the security questions are different to what I set up. That and the fact that EA/Origin are higher on my hit list than Bush and Blair due to their ever excelling BS customer service, I'd say I'm done for. That said, my credit card company won't think twice in taking back the funds.

Whether or not you are an EA/origin customer, you should try their online help. It's like being back in 2001, you may as well be clicking a dead button. They never reply, never. Even after you follow the routine line of enquiry, you're taken to a page that asks you to describe your problem and leave contact details only to be embraced by silence infinity.

On a side note, which language is the oc3d text dictionary/thesaurus/library set to ?
I'm getting a bit annoyed at the red squiggly line under proper English.
