you have a nice overclock, i think those temps are alright for amd but im no expert on opterons
Those temps are fine, probably a little on the higher side from what I've seen of the results posted on the net, for idle/load temps for that processor.

Just had a go at 2.9ghz, This is the result i got:

It was stable in Super Pi but as soon as i did a Prime 95 Torture Test it got a error.

I am now priming at 2.85ghz.

I would run Prime95 for at least 24 hrs. My CPU froze sometime after 12 hrs so run at least 24 to make sure

Since it has been clocked at 2.85GHZ i have encoded a movie over night, played games , ran stabilty tests and passed them all and it runs at 38C all the time.

I am pretty much convinced it is stable.

nice job mate can you go any higher than 2.85?

Yes, I raised the voltage to 1.5V and got 3ghz prime on super pi but as soon as i did a prime 95 test it failed.

I can also get 2.9ghz stable on prime 95 and super pi but i have to loosen the latencies on my memory but A64's love tight latencies so i wouldnt be benefiting any extra performance.

Ive got a CABYE 0540 at 2.95 Ghz prime stable, though it needs 1.55v. Not sure whether to go back to 2.9 @ 1.50 though . Amazing chip though for very little money. Mother board an chip cost less than £150 :D

Only thing is i cant run the memory at 1T stable, but working on that atm.

£150 !!!!

I payed £190 after customs tax for my amd opty 146 and £97 for my DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR .

I have nearly spent double than you !!!

Lucky man.

Yeah, im feeling quite lucky right now. :)

Overclocking for me is saving money rather than pushing boundaries, so i bought two cheap parts, which in the end, will give me an expensive rig for little cost :)

Well i still think my cpu was a bargain at £190 as its running at 2.85ghz which is more than the £750 FX57 .

hate to keep reminding you that I have the same one and i didnt pay near £200 for it. you may think importing from USA is cheaper...but it really isnt when you get stung on import tax like you did.

Yep the USA aint the best for customs tax, Does anyone know of any pc shops in Hong Kong that have websites in english as i order alot of stuff for my other hobby from HK and have never been stung yet. But still i got a cpu which i knew would do 3ghz stable and was the good stepping.
