Opinions on new folding rig

I've been buying GSkill, so maybe I will stick with that.

What about cooling the i7? I'd like to run 4GHz+ 24/7 folding if the 930 will clock unlike my C0 920. Should I go TRUE, Noctua u12dx, or H50? This is a work PC so I'd like to stay away from water like in the H50.

P6X58-E any good? It's about $30 more than the UD3R. Specs look just about identical. Any reason to spend the extra $30?

if the ud3 is the new v2 with better power regs then no, if its the original one then they had a tendancy to die if high clocks were sustained for long periods..... kinda like folding 24/7 with the cpu maxxed!

All they have at Newegg is the NH-U12DX.

I'd imagine the UD3R would be the version 2 as newegg moves inventory rather fast.

well u prob cant go wrong with that noctua cooler, not sure if there's been a review of it on here tho might be worth having a nose about to see

be careful,as the noctua you are using is the only one that top of the pile, the prolemtech megahalms would come in 2nd if the D14 was unavailable

Think I'll go with a Megahalems then. Out of stock atm though, should be in stock again next week.

Haven't decided on that yet. Have until next week to decide. I'd like quiet of course. Any recommendations?

I just ordered a couple of Scythe Slip Stream 1900RPM fans for my mega shadow (black megahalems). They were like 7 euro's a piece and they move quite a lot of air so I hope they will do good, but I don't know if they perform well when used on a heatsink. Anything is better than my current antec tricools though!

You could get some Xigmatek fans. They look really cool and perform quite alright too. I think OC3D used xigmatek fans in their review, but Im not sure. I ordered three of those to replace the antec tricools in my case.

Another thing you could do is get a pair of Noctua P12's (if you're looking for good performance at a low noise level and if you don't give a *beep* about looks) but they are quite expensive (€20 in the Netherlands).

the armageddon is not a patch on the megahalms REVB fella

also i am not sure on the fin spacing but i would use some noctua p12's for it in a push pull config, there airflow is better than the p12b's but there pressure lacks abit, but saying that they are both good fans and i would chose the p12's anyday

i use them on my CPU cooler and my case fans all at 12v,they are quite loud when all running together but thats hard to get away from lol as i have 5 running

So wait for the Megahalems to be in stock? I guess I could use the stock intel cooler, lol j/k.

I'll show some patience and wait.
