Opinions on my first self made build

Hi guys I have been a computer gamer for a long time but my first build was a premade. I need to upgrade and I want to build my own. I have a budget of under 2000$

1. I have an SSD/Monitor/Mouse/Keyboard/Speakers
2. I am going to OC.
3. I might want to go 4k down the road.
4. I prefer AMD GPU's but Nividia is fine.
5. Red/ black build color

Also I just realized that I still have the 10k Hard drive
I'm replacing it with a 2 TB regular HD before I buy the build.

1 last thing I prefer to stick with air cooling.

Thanks for any help!

Everything you have picked seems fine to me, but personally I would have gone for an AIO CPU cooler eg H100i or the H110i, especially if you're going to be overclocking.

Just something for you to think about, as the AIO units tend to dissipate heat quicker than air coolers in my experience.

Nothing wrong with the build but just going to put in my suggestions and what I would do.

For the price of that air cooler. Ditch it and never think about it again. That's nearly as much as a H100i for crying out loud and FAR worse. I know you perfer aircooling but nothing is wrong with an AIO. Not sure if it will fit in that case(though pretty sure it will) but then again i would opt for a different case as the one you choose is sort of dated. Still a good case, however, by choosing say a different one it also lets you get rid of some of the fan options you choose saving a little more money.

Next is the Drive. For the price you are paying you can easily pay $40 less and get a 512GB Crucial MX100 ssd. Ya its not as much storage but honestly its worth it. If its not enough for you then this brings me to my next point. Drop the PSU wattage. Go for a 850watt PSU. Its more than enough when the system is running 4k and saves quite a bit of money. Put that saved money towards a bigger ssd such as the Samsung evo 1tb/750Gb or the Crucial M550 1tb ssd. You might pay a little more by doing this but in all honesty any modern computer without an SSD is just well.. not modern. I run my pc with only ssds and would never consider going back.

Just my suggestions but hope it helped!

Here are my suggestions.
Get rid of the cpu cooler and get something like a H80i or something from Phanteks if you want air cooling. the gts isn't all that good. The Phanteks air coolers are pretty much the best ones you can buy for the money. They look amazing for aircoolers as well.

-edit- also squeeze in an SSD of some description.

In my experience the fans on the evga psu's are a little loud, I'd go for a be quiet power zone or similar with like 850 watts, more than enough and cheaper.
I agree that the H80 is what you want if you're going to Oc. I personally don't like that case and prefer the sleek look of the corsair D series. So maybe a 450 or 650 which are similar price to the coolermaster.
You can now buy crucial mx100 for next to nothing so buy a 512gb ssd for OS and 2tb for backup, you have to have an ssd.
Finally get an antec true quiet pro 120 mm for extraction as you want to be silent.
Hope you enjoy the building, I love all that stuff

He already states in the OP

He just doesn't state what it is or what size.

I have a samsung 256gb EVO that's i got last year for my current build. Also the 10k drive was a mistake I'm getting a WD 2 TB regular hdd. I like the case because of all the special things it has and they now have added a side windows to the new version if the case that's why I chose it (also Tom gave it a gold medal on his review). And finally I will go with the phantek air cooler.

This one but In red. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835709001

Any other ideas?

Hmm I've been thinking of the heat in my build so I have modified my build a little.

What do you guys think of this one?

(I might add extra fans before I buy)

Also if you have any changes can you change them out in a PC part picker build for me? Thanks!

Here's my build for you. I kept most of it the same. I changed out the case/storage/PSU.

The case i changed because you wanted a black and red theme and this case is perfect for you. It does not have any 5.25" bays though(which is the reason for the warning bar). So when you install your OS using the CD you will just have to leave it sitting on something while it installs. Then you can remove it and forget about it, you can also just not get it and get an external drive you really need it too.
Storage i went for an SSD. No need for mechanical hard drives anymore. If you really want more storage then i would just get a bigger SSD. It makes a difference in overall system performance and for games there is quite a decent bump in loading screens and autosaves(doesn't pause as much). Just makes it a more seemless experience.
The psu i went for a 1000watt RM. It was the same price as the 850watt unit so mine as well get it.

Everything else looks good!
