Opinion on AM1 Socket build.

Due to recent tragic events in my family, tinkering with my PC is one of the few things, that takes my thoughts away from what happened, I was wondering if this platform is worth looking at. I'm thinking of building some sort of media PC (something to make my old TV "smart"), mainly to use it for youtube, netflix, internet etc. while I'm not on my PC. The budget isn't really an issue, but I can buy all I need, for full working PC, instead of saving/buing 1-2 parts a month, on my next paycheck, so the question is, is it worth spending my money on it. The parts I have in mind are:
AsRock AM1B-ITX/MSI AM1I
AMD Athlon 5350
Corsair CX500 (I have one spare)
2x2GB DDR3 1333 MHz (Have that too)
Smallest possible case that accepts standard size PSU.

If anyone own, used, seen reviews of the platform, please share your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

Here is a review on the kabini platform by PCPER

Kabini should suit you well here, it is essentially a laptop grade CPU and you are planing to use it for basic "laptop like" tasks.

I think you have a pretty great starter for a HTPC, those Kabini APUs are perfect for what you want especially given it's low power draw.

For your usage scenario a chromecast would probably do tbh, I wouldn't bother with a media PC

Yeah, I'm perfectly aware of that, but as I said in the OP the build itself is more important, than the purpose of the PC, I more or less wanted to know, if the APU itself worth it, or should I look for more expensive/"higher end" parts. I appreciate the quick response tho. I'll think this over few more days, but if I go with the plan, I'll post some pictures of my budget build here.
