omg the new imac is SEX!!

PC's are ok

Mac's are just pure class tho. Some people obviously value design and a good OS over anything else.

I would like to run mac osx 100% of the time, but obviously as I play games I can't really :( (not at the same fps as windows anyway). But for work & browsing the web it is perfect.

I guess when UT3 comes out I will be on mac osx or linux 80-90% of the time (providing the fps performance is there).

i dont think mac os is any better than windows, the only reason its more stable is because apple make the drivers for things, not third parties. Something apple can do as most normal home users wouldnt use one (which takes up most of the market)

Goes it bit deeper than that. Hard to explain, but I remember when an OS almost had a soul. Mac OS is the only popularist one that resembles that today. There are some outstanding minor OSs too, but they are very hobbiest today - IF u can even get u`r hands on them.

Stability, whatever way u go about it, is a big thing. It adds to the fluidity of use.

I didn`t realize Apple made printer/gfx drivers and such. Apart from a small number of 3rd party peripherals my pc has plugged into it, something around 80-90% of the drivers are from microsoft, or atleast say they are - which could mean they get others to write them and then vett them themselves, and typically stick their name on it. Looking at the drivers for alot of things for the pc - u get a disk with an .inf on it, u look at the inf in progress and it shifts windows stuff around.

Outside of gaming, which is pretty well represented on the Mac - alot more than I thought it was til I stumbled on the mac section of Game, I don`t see what home users will use a pc for that they can`t use a mac for. I`d even go as bold as to say the largest home user %age, cutting edge pc gaming aside, would be able to use their mac without issue. They can install m$ Office on it too if it comes to that.

Large numbers buying the consoles for gaming, leaves a mac to pickup the slack.

I agree, if people tried mac osx for a month or two without touching windows in that time, they would love it.

I know this forum is full of people who are very much into cutting edge pc gaming, but the average person who has a xbox360/wii/ps3 doesn't really need a pc to play games.

On a core2duo, mac osx seems to fly :) I guess the kernel etc is really optimised for specific hardware more than windows.

As I am a gamer tho, I am still using windows :( back when I played quake3 I used linux 90%+ of the time, so hopefully I will be able to do the same with osx when the new array of games are released.

I think as nathan said tho, people don't like change and as microsoft do tend to have a large amount of users people don't really even look at mac's or their OS :(

Before this turns into a flame war, or gets off topic ^ I'm going to have to call for a lock.

nothing wrong with the thread, nothing wrong with a bit of debate. It's nice to hear everyones different opinions.
