Out with the (not so) old, in with the new.

So some of you may have seen my attempt at case modding a little while ago. I took a cheap, no name case and tried to make it look like something from a higher price bracket. While I feel I did a pretty damn good job for a beginner, it left me wanting something more, something...pure.

So with the blessing and assistance of my wife (I don't speak German very well still) we ordered a few shiny bits from various places. The main thing being the case, a beautiful, crisp white, clean lined NZXT Source 340; a purchase I wholeheartedly attribute to TTL (thanks fella!).

Along with some fans, and new HDD and a very comfy chair, I also got my very first AIO in what is likely to be the first of many toes I dip in to the world of watercooling, though for now an AIO will easily suffice.

Having desperately wanted to make my original case look clean and tidy, and not coming as close as I wanted, this case fulfills every desire I had in terms of clean lines, spaciousness and most importantly tidiness. So, out came all my old hardware; my heavily modded and custom painted GPU, the rather snazzy looking (if I do say so myself) white painted RAM and my awesome MSI motherboard, the old case relegated to becoming a future testbed, and in everything went to the gorgeous NZXT Source 340.

I hope you like the pics, I'm still getting to grips with a DSLR after using a camera phone for years:

Nice use of the MSI badge! :)

Thanks! I figured after the MSI rep on here went to the trouble of sending me some nice little goodies, the least I could do was put them somewhere prominent. So there's the MSI badge, and one of the 3 MSI branded velcro cable ties wrapped round the GPU power cables.

Nice job fella! especially like the use of the badge to cover that slot (never figured out what that was for)

Yeah I too noticed the clever use of the MSI badge, if you don't mind I'll steal your idea when I get the source 340 around next month :D

Also, is there any way to disable the motherboard + cpu cooler LEDs? I know it's nitpicking but the blue is a little distracting to the overall design

The motherboard light's I've since disabled through the BIOS (love this MSI board) but as for the cooler I don't think its possible to shut it off without having to open up the casing and physically remove it. It would be nice if companies considered such things when designing a product, but hey ho. At worst I can just cover it with another MSI badge or something :D
