Oh apple...

Let's not stop at electronics and cars, look at something like food, accommodation, clothes. The fact is, they charge that much because they can. For something like food, you obviously need it, so you'll buy it no matter how much it costs, stuff like electronics, if you won't buy it, someone, who can afford it, will and as long as you don't overdo it, you'll still have profit, that's just how the world is.

Ya but your not going to pay 5 times the price for an apple or a pizza now are you. Lets say a 9 inch pizza was 50 euro would you pay it?

My point is why do some people think the price of some items should be at least 3 times the recommended retail price. Even after a newer and superior product comes out. I have no problem paying a premium for a product if I think it is worth it but when the price is down right extortion it is ridiculous.

I get why organic food costs more and I get why some people would pay the little bit extra for it and the same for designer clothes. Hell I bought a designer watch when a cheaper one would really have done me. But my reasoning behind the designer one was it would last longer, it looks better and I can wear it with a nice suit without it looking cheap and tacky, oh and it should last years. But I wouldn't pay designer prices for something that was made for the cheaper market.

Let's just say I'd have to pay the equivalent if I did buy it. Imagine this, you earn 200 quid a month, and a large pizza costs 15. That's the position I'm in, living in a country where the minimum wage is 200 quid and If you make 500 you're doing very good, while the prices are the same as in the UK.

I am in a similar boat dude. I am a student and stuff over here is so expensive it is usually cheaper to buy it online and ship it here. Now I wasn't always a student hence why I could afford my car a few years back but if I want to buy something I kinda have to think now if it is worth it or if I can get it cheaper elsewhere. I don't think I have had a take away pizza in months to pay for my new pc but it is worth it :)

but always remember, people will buy an apple because its an apple. i know people who keep buying apple products, and i always ask them "how come you bought an apple?" and the answer is always the same "Because its an apple!". i have never met anyone in life who has bought anything from apple who can give me a different or better answer than that yet. they tell me how good there $4000 mac book pro is and how much better it is than a PC, and even after they use a PC laptop, which costs less than half the price and has twice the performance, they still swear by there apple! so i don't blame apple for charging this much. people are willing to pay it just to have an apple, so why not charge them through the roof for it. its good business! blame the people who actually buy these things.

i agree with apple product sort of, i have a rule if i am given an apple... i'll take an apple. like my ipod and ipad, both given to me so i am using them. (never bought an apple product well other then fruit in my life)
I know a few of these 'apple people' guess it's like a religion to some. Can't believe some even chase apple stores.
As in oh new stores opening soon (here) must be there for the opening day!

lol i have an ipod to! in my car, 30 gb, my brother gave it to me...i loaded it up with 5k songs.....now i dont want to redoo my playlist even tho i hate it because its soooooooooo anoying to use itunes :(

Lol I would never bend to the Apple con and with Steve Jobs gone, its only a matter of time before they go under but that's not to say.
I would not throw say an iphone back if I received it as a gift but I would jailbreak it in under a minute.><
The hardware is always outdated but then again most mobile/portable devices are but my old slightly broken Nokia N900 despite an older camera although the carl zeis lens knocks the crap out of the iphone camera lenses.
And with 24GB of internal storage and a micro sd card slot, what more do you need?
Its Linux, open source and I can dual/tri boot multiple OS's, quad if you know how?;)
I am currently using a cheap second hand Motorola Android phone for now until I can get the parts to fix my Nokia N900, usb port broke after just over two and a half years of usage, upon trying to fix it the damn slider broke well was bent and it sliced the damn screen ribbon cable (lucky me aye).><
Clearly devices are being built to be fragile so when you want to fix them you have to be anally careful, which I usually am but hey that's Nokia for you.
Don't get me wrong when it was all working and believe it or not the screen is in mint condition, as I always used a case and microfibre cloth.
And I still do with my current cheap phone, come on Maemo, Android and Meego all on one device and you can emulate the old Mac OS.
The more recent N9 was a blatant failure as it was due to have Meego but then Nokia signed a contract with microcrap (microsoft).
The Lumia is just a clown phone in my opinion.

I think most apple users think apple is better because of the os. I repaired a family members macbook and got the chance to have a play with it. I noticed it was quite snappy its lower spec than my pc but was loading program's faster i can only put that down to the os. As there is no way a i5 could beat an i7@4ghz with a fresh install of windows.

i got an 3g back in the day. loved it ios update crippled it fortunately a horse tried to rape me and i dropped the phone and shattered it but it was covered by insurance which got me a 3gs same story loved it the the next ios update crippled it then it fell out of my pocket while i was on my motorcycle which got me a 4 which was awesome again until the ios update the iphone 5 came out and was just a longer 4 and i thinks screw that im going to samsung so i got a ipad which is a million times better than the iphone and as soon as the galaxy siv comes out ill be getting itfor sure. with the ipad i still can use all my apps but i can use it for work if i need which is awesome. i have craved a macbook since they went to the unibody aluminium design but i am not paying 1500+ for a laptop no more powerful than my mums 400 quid plastic shelled toshiba. no freaking way. in the future i would like to see more of a balance between form/function than the current sway of all for no function

I have a Mac Pro... bring the flames ;)

I also have an iPhone 4S, the pc in my sig, and a nexus 7.. go figure..

Sometimes, people buy things because they want to, not everyone who buys something you don't like is a blind fanboy chaps :)

If you have a ton of spare cash then I agree.

Nowt to do with cash, I bought the Mac for work, I'm a web developer and at work we use macs, so it made sense. The PC only recently got upgraded as a bit of a "it's about damn time" for my gaming to get back up to spec.

As for the iPhone, i've had the 3gs, the 4 and now the 4s, my next phone will be either a nexus 4 or 5(if it's out by the time I upgrade) simply because I feel the OS, and usability and whatnot have matured enough to the point I'm happy to try them out. I've had a fiddle with a Nexus 4 of a friend, I was impressed enough to seriously start thinking about owning one.

I picked up the nexus 7 at christmas and love it, for the money the performance is utterly insane :) quite a powerful little tablet, again another reason why i'll probably pickup a nexus phone soon.

But my point is, yes there are of course fan boys and morons, but that doesn't mean you should point that finger at every owner of a product... And just because you don't personally like it, doesn't mean you have to go on a hate crusade to tell the world just that...

I mean i utterly abhor some car designs, particularly that thing that looks like it's hit a low bridge. But people STILL buy it?! Do i rage about it? no... it's their choice, they must have some reason, however deluded that is, to buy it. *shrug*

Most people need to get their car serviced every 12 months anyway whether they like it or not so they get it done there and then with them disposing of the oil...

If you go 12 months without changing your cars oil you have to be both a retard and a moron and have a massive wallet to pay for a new engine every year!

Personally never really understood the attraction behind macs. I can partly get the idea on laptops, but not a home desktop. Not saying somebody is stupid to buy mac, just don't get it.

On the phone side they where not the first one to do what they did, but they where the first one to make TS easy to use and responsive. Though imo on gadget side they are getting caught same way as Nokia did when they where dominating 60% of the market and 77% of the smartphone market.

Feared to change the once winning formula and replicating it all over again.
