i'd love to hear you pronounce that. german must be awful to learn.

I'd rather learn German from English than the other way around. At least spelling, grammar, and pronunciation are consistent in German. I also really like how many German words are just similar words with prefixes or suffixes, everything ties in nicely :)

english is way easier than german, german is very complex. for essays german is the better language though, it offers so many more possibilities to express yourself in a fancy way :D

Not really, I have an advantage that my mom is German, From Berlin, She is a language professor and I was born in Berlin and moved to England when I was 6 so I kept the language going and then eventually moved to the Republic.

It gets rusty from time to time but 1 week back in Berlin and it's fluent again.
My dad is from the Republic Of Ireland and he speaks German fluently as well as a few other languages so I get the opportunity to practice a lot :)

The best teachers of any language should come from the country your wanting to learn the language of therefore you get the best information possible, Unless of course said teachers are dedicated to their profession then it doesn't matter where they come from.

We had a couple of teachers in school whilst I lived in England and they were English born teachers teaching German, It was cringe worthy listening to them and I ended up 9/10 times correcting them on grammar and various spelling mistakes, I only took the class as it was an easy "A" :p

After a while the school got a teacher from Berlin who was half German and half English and then everyone's grades started to rise very quickly because the other 2 kept giving out wrong information and wondering why everyone's grades were declining lol

ah okay, that makes it easy for you of course. i talked to a couple of other people who didn't have any roots in germany, they said it was hell to learn the language. none of them were any good at it either.

It's like anything in life really, If your dedicated and put the time in then you will learn it, If your "So-So" about it then you won't really get anywhere.

Idk if german really is something to be dedicated about. It's not a very common language, rather difficult and most germans learn english from third grade on, doesn't mean they can speak english though. The amount of people i know who had english in school for 10 years and still can't form a single proper sentence is pretty high, sadly.
Also you're* x2 :D

hi all, i havn't been in PC gaming along time, and so my steam friends list feels a bit small, so i just want to know if some people would add me, not looking for a lot, just a few so that i have someone to join in a game.
i play a lot of Counter strike GO, war thunder, TF2 maybe, some portal, planetside 2, Gmod.
can i say, i dont want people that are overly shouty or raging at games a lot, or swearing, someone that is willing to voice chat, through skype or teamspeak or razer comms, or in game, doesnt matter that much.
people that are in the UK would be good, or at least in europe, just because of the timing, if you are on the other side of the world, then we may never be online at the same time.
also, people that are kinda mature, but also like to have fun and troll around sometimes, but not always.
so thats it, add me on steam, i dont play battlefield 4 yet, only bf3 sometimes.
my steam name is: Fishhy
