[OFFICIAL] OC3D Overclockers Club

Been a few day's with my new 4790k and Maximums VII Formula Z97.

I've not dived deep into the settings, only just to the basic's thus far.

100% Rock solid at these settings:

4.8Ghz with 1.225v
4.5Ghz Cache with 1.15v

Avexir 2133Mhz @ 2400 with 10-12-12-21 1T (Benched 35GB/s Read)

That cache is high - its only needed for massive memory speeds - if youre not running 3000+ Id try knocking that back
Yea you're right about that, however it's not my daily OC. That OC is the highest stable one I managed to get while using voltages and keeping temps I'm comfortable with. I'll only switch to that profile when I actually need the extra horsepower :)

My daily OC is just a basic 4.0Ghz at 1.075v(adaptive voltage), 2400 XMP ram profile and the cache isn't overclocked, it gets the job done :p.

See if you can get VCCSA down a bit too

Both of my 5960Xs run 3200mhz+ memory

On one I set it to 0.9v

On the other one I leave it on auto @0.872v
Yea, I have tried lowering the vccsa but i'll get boot problems, it wont POST & i get a Q-code which points to the VCCSA. I do want to mention that this is 15-15-15-35-2t 2400MHz rated RAM, took me a while to tweak all the settings to get stable(500% hci memtest pass) at 15-15-15-40-1t 3000mhz on 100BCLK

My best on this chip is in the validation in my sig, granted that's still a bit unstable... I did finish tweaking my 24/7's on this one today, and here's what I have (i7-4790K):

I just did the final uncore/ring bus/cache on the 4.4 and 4.5 today.

Six weeks to compile the above list... I think 4.8 is doable, but I need better cooling, or need to tweak the IO voltages as well... Either way, 4.8 runs too hot for my blood and H100i GTX (peaks in the low 90's in prime). 4.9 and 5.0 boot, but don't handle loads too well, and both may get stable above 1.4, and i see that as unacceptable for anything but short benching and validation...5.0 is stable somewhere above 1.425 (BSOD there under any stress).

Still, 4.4-4.7 all suitable for 24/7 isn't that bad.

Opinions? How do these fit in with the pack here? My research seems to tell me mine isn't outstanding, but it's a tad better than the mean on the bell curve.

Oh, and downsize my cache to 4.2 GHz across the board @ 1.150V

The 4.4 GHz cache proved long-term unstable. Been stable ever since at 4.7 GHz @1.295Vcore / 4.2 GHz Cache/Ring @ 1.150Vring
