OCZ Technology Unveils the XTC Memory Cooler

OCZ Technology has released their active XTC Cooler for high performance memory. Call me old fashioned, ghetto or just plain tight (with my money), but I think I'd prefer the tried and true method of some rubber bands and a fan myself. Sure it looks ok, I guess but it just doesn't do it for me enough to warrant the money, whatever that may be. Care to comment? Feel free to do so below...

Might be worth a review actually.... Be interesting to see if it improves OC'ing etc at all

I most definately need one of these now that I don't have any air circulating in that area... Gonna search for one tonight mefinks.

Corsair Dominators OC'ed awesome (despite being "only" D9 GMH). So my guess would be, yes :)

Abit give these sorta things away with some mobos, and have done for years. Apart from the aluminium feel, "adjustable screw thing" and looking wider - and the ghetto option ala PV mentioned, u can bet they`re £20/$20.

This cooling method I know makes a bank of ddr pass memtest where they would be touch and go without one.

Cliquee.

They do have blue leds tho.... :o

I think they are more flash than substance (like most OCZ stuff)

The small holes would restrict the airflow and the way the part faces it would just spread the warm air all over the mobo.

(it does look cool though)

Now a good idea is like the Dominator memory but a little taller that would integrate the airflow into the pattern of in the front of the case and out the back.

or even a Heatpipe arrangement with fins.

I have to say that OCZ has been the most consistantly stable and high performance memory I've used so I think that's incorrect tbh

I think this could be helpful for the extreme overclockers :)

First Corsair and now OCZ makes an active cooling device for memory... Maybe Muskin is next.

I think active cooling on the Corair Dominator memory does help but not sure about other manufacturers.

I guess more flash than substance is a little strong.(my bad) I was thinking about the camo memory.

And I am the one in LOVE with my GeilONE memory and even its chrome plated (thats bad, chrome retains more heat than flat black)

After Thanksgiving I will make a copper heatsink cooler for my memory in CrossFlow. Something that uses the air from my Hyper6+. Kind of like the Corsair Dominator on steroids...

Thanks for not flaming the he$$ out of me for misspeaking..
