just got my OCZ ram and have done some benches with them they run at 300MHz, but just want to make sure i have got the settings right, therefore could you have a look at the settings i have set the ram to in the pic and please coment, also i have run sandra for bandwidth and and posted a pic, can you tell me if this is about right for the speed i have got the CPU at.

Thanks in advance for comments

would love to mate just have not got the cash and im Sticking with optys at the mo, sorry or i would have it mate.

Hope you got my mail about the msi update mate dont know if it has helped or not but intresting server files.

Anyway what do you think about the memory, does it look any good and do you think the settings are right.

I am still on air at the moment as the waterpump failed but should get a new pump sent out tomorrow from asetek as they have agreed the old pump was faulty and still within warranty so can then start benching again.

sorry about the mach2 GT mate anyone who wants real cooling should buy it its well worth the cash, good luck with the sale mate.

Some nice ram you have there :D Have you tried tightening up the alpha timings a little though? Make use of the DFI's numerous options.

The following suggestions might/might not work. but they might give an idea of where to look.

Idle Cycle Limit -> 16 (or 128 )

TRC -> 10

TRFC -> 21 or 24

Try Trtw at 2 or 3.

Read Preamble to 5.5 (had some issues with no boots/hangs setting this wrong)

What vDimm are you running also, thats a damn fine ram/cpu combo :D

Hi there, have set the timmings to what you have said, has made a little difference, as you will see is there anymore that i can go or is that about it, when i get the watercooling going again i will be setting to a higher FSB so might have to loosen of a bit with the memory timmings.

The only timings that will really affect benching are the Row Refresh, Max Async Latency and Read Preamble, I`m not sure what timings work best for UCCC (guess) memory, but I found on my CH-5 that as the RAM frequency went up, MAL and RP could come down.

Trtw and Twtr dont really help but need to be at slightly higher settings for higher clocks- if you got them both to 1 at 300, I`d be impressed :)

Your timings are fine overall :)

OCZ 4800 = TCCD/TCC5 (well the 1GB kits are anywho)

Can you knock TRAS down any lower? 7 might give a boost.

As K404 said, MAL might help things out a little too - will try and dig out a 300 HTT A64 screeny w/ TCCD. Sure its uploaded somewhere..

*Might* be worth trying TRC @ 10, TRFC at 12. Could never get it to boot, but it may work for you.

TRAS should go to zero fine, but doesnt help benching.

Idle Cycle makes no difference LOL I dont mean to be negative, but for CH-5 anyway, I spent 3 evenings at several hours per evening tweaking SuperPi- a small speed bump (40MHz) and tweaks took 0.625 seconds off my time.

MAL and RP, tweaked will bring SuperPi times down maybe 0.25 seconds (1M)

Worth it though on a time per clock basis :D

Doesnt affect speed, but had quite a marked affect on stability here. Stability improved loads going from 256 -> 16 :)

hmmmm interesting. When I get my DFI back, I`ll take ICL from 256 to zero and see what happens. Thanks for the idea!
