Oc'ing Memory

Currently, suck on 333 divider, 240x10, ddr 400 on ram. 2.6v 3-3-3-8 (4 sticks of value ram at 2T)

iv tried going on a lower divider, 266 and trying to boot at 2.9 ghz, but no go at 1.5v

so now that iv read there is a memtest on windows, iv decided i wana clock a bit higher to 2.6

now for oc'ing memory, i wana get it to 260, is that impossible? 520 seems very high

no divider, 200x10, 333 divider 2.4ghz, 266 divider, 2.9ghz i believe no boot (all of these with ram at stock speeds)

so should i stick with 333 divider and up the ram speed, back to no divider and up ram speed. what you recomend?

and when oc'ing ram, do i just incrase volts like a CPU?

thanks :) (very confusing post i noticed)

At 260 the ram should be running at 216. Which it may or may not be able to handle. Up the volts to 2.8 and try. My old KVR ran at 220 no problem.

I always thought 1T made more difference than upping the speed a little.

I would sell the value stuff and get some better stuff now its so cheap.

Im still using DDR but I saw OCZ DDR2 for $59 for 2 gigs:eek:

My TwinMOS DDR only went up to 208mhz even when I upped the volts, and that was value stuff. It normally doesn't go very high :(

My G.Skill HZs, on the other hand, which are DDR500 go up to 250mhz and beyond I bet, although I haven't tried. With a set (2GB) of these, you could easily hit your target :)

To be honest, I never had much luck OCing DDR.

I swear the stuff just would not clock.

On the other hand.. DDR2 is amazing! :D
