OC3D Welcomes the Redline Redux Folding Team

Welcome back boys - Ive got ecorators and electricians in atm and dust was an issue - shouldnt be long and Ill have the folder set up in the loft

Think I may have already killed a 280x though :/
 
Hi all!

I'm new to the forum and have only been folding on and off for a couple of weeks. I found out about folding when I stumbled across Tim's twin xeon overkill vid on youtube and joined the Redline team as soon as I could.

I've always been keen on trying to get the best I possibly can out of the (limited) hardware I have available to me and folding seems to be a great way to put my rig to work.

Anywho, thought I'd jump on the forum and say howdy.

Ok so the moment I found out about F@H i
knew I wanted to do whatever I can to help.
My current special:
Sabertooth 990fx r2.0
Fx 6300 @ 4 GHz.
Gtx 770 2gb.
8gb 1600 cl11 patriot single dimm.

Will be GPU folding shortly. Just figuring out the software

After just 1 Month I've hit position 207! A the start it seemed hopeless :P Just gotta hit 100 now ;)

@TTL, Any luck with Linux on your 48 Core folding BEAST?

Figured I would do some distributed computing since I built my new rig. I always make sure to do something for others if I am able to do something frivolous for myself (I also participate in Cancer UK even though I am from USA, and Extra-Life).

I would like your opinion on the 51c CPU and 72c GPU temps. Should I switch my "folding" power down to medium?

I didn't adjust any settings yet. I only installed and started the web app.
 
Hi guys, I thought as I am not always at my pc I would help out with this, this is the first time I have ever done any folding but ever bit helps right :)

I am currently running i5 and gtx 580.

Those numbers look fine mate. Nothing to worry about.

Just completed my first WU for 13000 points.

I was looking around the team stats on the FAH website. It is pretty impressive that Redline is at 41st place with under 1000 members.

side note: Did anybody read the news about the woman who was treated with measles to cure her cancer? I wonder if this would fall in the same line of using penicillin mold to kill bacteria.
