Meh, fair comment.

Just strikes me that alot, not all, of the online gamer types reduce the quality of the games in any case to make them quicker (even if they got kick arse machines). It`s another edge I guess like cutting off acpi used to be.

Take the participants beyond those who gotta worry about transporting gear too.

Be a middle ground to perhaps have half a dozen or so on site for those who have a pita even getting themselves there.

Just suggestions, I`m not a big fps`er myself.

I like the idea if we all chip in and rent some space for the night so it will just be OC3D members.

Plus my computer weighs a tonne, literally! Even if I could get to one, I can imagine getting there, pulling my computer out, and there being a huge airlock in the system

I hope its like a nice setup as in...not rows and rows of pcs cause then you wont meet anyone

Hows about setting up an online "signup" form with a guessed date to see how many signup then go from there?

Perhaps have a main server with donated/lent hard drives to host and swap crap on? Legal free crap that is

When its a small to medium sized lan you can normally find some where like a local hall / sports centre etc that is open for public hire and has the basics needed:

Electricity

Tables

Toilets

From there you will find take aways / super markets close by for food and as for Sleeping a bit of grass close by will do for camping or just crash by your pc or on the floor.

That only really leaves a few snacks if you wanted to sell em at the events, a few servers and a network switch or two and your set.
