Guys & Gals,

Today marks the official launch of OC3D 'Tools' - a new section of the OC3D website designed to put some of the most useful online tools all in one place (and hopefully help with our global dominance

)

There are many tools planned, but just to whet your appetite we are starting with the following:

OC3D URL Shortener

Forget Bitly, TinyURL and Goog.le. If you want to shorten a URL in a hurry OC3D is the place to direct your browser. All shortened URL's make use of our http://oc3d.net domain, so not only do you get an extremely short link, but you also support your favourite technology website (we hope) in the process. Furthermore, if you drag our 'Quick Toolbar' link to your browser toolbar favourites area you can automatically generate shortened links for websites you are currently browsing.

OC3D LockBox Personal Storage

Just for lovely forum members (yes you lot) we've set up a fully functional cloud storage system. By logging in with your forum details you will gain access to your own storage area that allows drag-n-drop uploading of files, editing of many file formats online and downloading of files from other websites direct to your account without even using any of your own bandwidth! There's also an OC3D community shared area where you can upload files for other OC3D members to access. In fact, there's so many features it's best that you just login RIGHT NOW to check it out.

No worries guys, be sure to use them as much as possible

Also if you can think of any other useful tools that you'd like to be considered for the site, just say

Look in everyone's sigs.

F@H stats displays, validators, seperate linked system spec summaries (currently not enough space for multiple rigs on user page and takes up loads of space in sig manually listing parts), OC3D gaming clan user info (eg. Steam).

Some of those might be easier done than others, just suggestions

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but can we use this instead of ImageShack and PhotoBucket?

Regardless, TYVM

We have a 'replacement' for photobucket on its way soon as the LockBox isn't exactly geared up for easy photo hosting. You can however upload your photo's and then click on 'share' and it will create a public download URL for any files (images included).

what is the max size for a users storage capacity... it says max size PER file is 200mb, but how much space, in total, can a user access?

EDIT: if there is a limit... a status bar (or similar) would be nice to display the user's total space remaining

Awesome, can't wait to give this a go. Just wish I could login...chrome has made me lazy and I can't remember my password lol

Hopefuly the url shortener isnt going to be filled with non pg 13 dvd covers again like sqi.sh is/was? i remember typing a link out from memory and forgetting 1 digit and getting a load of gay porn dvd covers trying to guess the digit i forgot.... hopefuly not *shudders*

Other than that looks good, ill def use the file storage for backing up the programs i generally keep on my "tech support usb"

I actually use squi.sh every now and then but I guess I'll start using this now. Lockbox sounds great as well, what's the storage limit?

Anyway awesome tools

I just visit the OC3D LockBox and I saw that there was a possibility of changing the language to French. Thank you for thinking to me.
