OC3D Review: abit AW9D Max Socket 775 Core2Duo Motherboard

NO NO it keeps all other settings I have set except the CPU and RAM overclocks so I doubt its the battery. Ill try an older bios and see if it works.

Im very disapointed because I bought this MOBO to OverClock with.

dunno i never got this problem except on a soltek mobo , so i doubt its the mobo i have it too and i can say its a beauty

Dont get me wrong Im loving this MOBO. This thing is faster than the ASUS P5B-VM that was overclocked to 2.7ghz. This MOBO just runs circles around the ASUS MOBO and I dont have it overclocked yet. This MOBO has made me more of an ABIT fanboy now.

I went with the sugestion of trying a different bios so I flashed bios 13 , but the system kept hanging with it. So I tried to flash to bios 12 and 17% of the way through flashing the bios the system hung. I couldnt restore the system so I had to RMA the board. I am gone back to AMD because I just had too much bad luck while I was with INTEL.

I bought a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 and an AMD X2 5600. Ive kept the Crucial ballistix ddr2 8000 ram. I was without a computer since the night I got the ABIT mobo. The ASUS mobo I was using died the same night as the ABIT one did. I just connected the ASUS mobo up and all I got was blue smoke. This AMD System is running perfectly @ 2.996ghz.

The only time I will return to Intel is if AMD goes out of business. While I was with intel (Since june 24th 07) My sata II HDD broke and had to be replaced , I went through 2 CPU's , MY GPU broke and I went through 3 motherboards. I have never had so much bad luck with computers before.

Wow that is some pretty bad luck mate! Lucky for me I haven't had any problems on Intel yet (excluding the period of time I was phasing and burning out mobo's/CPU's due to voltage).

I do love AMD but they just aren't doing a good job of being competitive in the market right now unfortunately.

I'm back to a craptastical P4 rig at the moment and would be more than happy to have an A64 rig instead.

LOL I had nothing at all to use while I was waiting for this motherboard and CPU. Right now Im slowly Overclocking this thing. Ive got to 2.998GHZ so far. I tested the OC in windows with the overclocking tool I got with the MOBO but with the tool it wont go over 3ghz.

Im aiming for just over 3ghz with stock cooling because I still owe 100 euro on the CPU and mobo. In 2 weeks Ill be buying a Zalman cooler and hope ill get close to 3.2ghz. I just hope that the ammount of case fans will help compensate for the lack of a decent CPU cooler until then.
