OC3D GOG Galaxy Thread

Hey guys,

With the launch of the GOG Galaxy Beta I thought it'd be a good idea to create a thread to discuss the new client. I currently have the client in front of me, and while it looks a bit empty, it looks decent enough. And it's still not as empty as my GOG friend list ;)

Anyway, leave your thoughts and if you want your username here. In the e-mail containing my beta key it stated that the GOG Galaxy client will be available for the masses in a few days (so without needing to apply for a beta key).

Cheers!

I'm all for getting great games, I have Witcher 3 on GoG awaiting download, but it's all these UIs that's getting me, Uplay, Steam, Origin and now Galaxy it all needs combining somehow... It's getting worse than all the bloatware you see on retail PCs.

Galaxy is competely optional mate ;)

If you want to play your GOG games without installing Galaxy, that's not still possible :)

I signed up only because I had to to get my free copy of Witcher 3! they gave me 10 free games that I will never download as they look like games I use to play on my Amiga 1000.

I have got their Galaxy but again not applied it yet, I'm really only interested in GOG for their future and the promise to run games without having to load DRM's like Steam and origin and not have to use the internet for a simply SP.

I guess a lot of that will be down to the publisher.

Not sure Ill get this or not. I already get tired of having my games on Steam AND Origin so I dont think Ill want to add a third client to have to keep up with. I admit to hating the idea of Origin when it first came out and now I kinda like it and have bought several games on it so maybe Ill warm up to Galaxy some day but I kinda doubt it. Most of the games I buy on Origin are only because theyre only available on Origin so if it werent for that Id probably not have any on there.

I got it for £22 from G2A. However when I try to install it I keep getting "No Hard Disk Spack" even though I have 1.3tb on the allocated disk. Anybody else having issues?

maybe your windows disk has low space, it needs to unpack before it can install to the target drive.

Well if that is the case I am completely screwed. I have 8gb remaining on my windows drive.

edit - Have solved the issue, on the GoG client there is a settings tool which allows you to select hard drives. Even though I selected my 2tb Hard drive originally it somehow went back to my c: drive
