OC3D Exclusive: OCZ prepares Neural Impulse Actuator for shipping next week

That doesn't help anyone wanting to know why they've been delayed, and total black out of information since the March 4th Press release that the world republished.

Orrr, people wanting it!

As it is now, I'll be moving house by the time it ships most likely, so I'm going to have to wait..

How Long??

Been told by the suppliers in the UK that there expecting them any day. No guaranteed dates, but was told it should be before the end of the week. Its getting frustrating as OCZ have not spoken to any of there resellers in the UK to let them know whats going on. Our accounts manager at the largest importer of computer components in the UK, has said that they have been told just to tell people to play it by ear, which is very ominous.

Dont worry though as im on the phone to the people who matter every day and as soon as I either have one in my hands or know of any guaranteed dates that are set in stone I will post immediately.

(BTW sorry for not using names, but I dont think my boss would be too happy about divulging trade info on forums, plus im supposed to be working )

The company I work for ships world wide....but you'll have to find us...

Can you give us a hint? Or can we send you a private message if you're unable to reveal the company publicly?

Hint

I mentioned the company in this thread somewhere...its not the cheapest in the uk...if u pm me I will tell you..the problem is it has to be under 2kg for us to ship world wide...your guess is as good as mine as to how much the retail pack will weigh...although we have already took several international orders...I've got a conference call with a few managers and the importers today so maybe it will herald some good news...hopefully....my hands hurting from playing too much guitar hero...It'll be easier to "brain" it so to speak...:D

I can't send PM either but please email me if possible . My email is *my forum username* AT hush DOT ai

thanks

Ocz - Arrrgghh

Right, the official word is "?" . I spoke with Chris at OCZ UK and they happily told me that they haven't been shipped from Taiwan, and the demand has been that great there also manufacturing them in the states, no guaranteed date as of yet. A date was given to us by a UK company of the 16th of May, apparently pre-orders are booked up and the first 10,000 production units have already been accounted for. Apparently its not going to be till August before supply issues are sorted, so expect high prices on Ebay. My company are looking at closing the preorders soon, think were about 6 off before they close, any one who ordered from anywhere else be aware that you could be waiting for months as there are no free stock available, and bulk quantities are impossible to get hold of. OCZ UK had also said that they were quite amazed at how well it worked and the only few units on the streets are demo models as seen at cebit, these are running all over the world to generate interest, so expect to start seeing more press on it and more reviews.

Aw that sucks. So will the 10k units still be shipped on time?

Also, do these things need a power source? I've ordered one, but not sure about the power issues on it...

The pre-production unit that we saw came with a mains adapter. I _imagine_ it will be the same for the retail unit

I'd presume that with the size of the box it would have some kind of PSU with it, like I said the first 10K are taken, god knows about the shipping, Its all in the hands of the Industrious Taiwanese Population. Send there embassy a nice email, praising there affordable electronics and the change to our everyday lives there constant hard working makes, its worth a try, might put production back on track :D

And the pre-production unit was the size of my case :D Don't tell me thats another device with a power rating over 600W in my front room, so much for being green

So are they still producing the 10k units or they're ready to ship them?

I have to say this is extremely frustrating with no official updates from OCZ since the press release from March 3rd. The only reason I am desperately waiting for this thing is because I am a disabled gamer who can only use the mouse to play games. With this device (if it works), I can finally play FPS games and not stuck playing point-and-click RTS/RPG all the time. If I was a normal gamer, to be honest, I don't think I'd give a rat's ass about this thing lol

The date given is 16th May, but that came from the OCZ reseller we have our order with, the people importing them will give no date, and neither will OCZ, basically get a calender out tear all the dates out throw them in the air then throw a live wasp at them and the one the wasp sticks too is the date of release, or thats the most accurate it will get :( these and the q9450 are giving us headaches at work, manufacturers+new technology+accurate release dates= an equation stephen hawkings can't figure

I'll keep you all posted I know some of you have orders with the company I work for, and I hate keeping people in the dark. Were gonna be the first company to have them in in the UK and I'll make sure there shipped the day we recieve them, if I don't my I'll post a video of my mrs hitting me in the family jewels with a lump hammer. Cant say fairer then that :D
