OC3D Crypto-currency Mining Pool?

Just thinking, someone could probably code a OC3D coin... ;)

It only involves changing a couple of dozen code-lines ;)

Not a bad idea, it would increase OC3Ds popularity and it could give us all a head start mining and it could be worth something. Only thing is we need to find somebody who can set it all up. Which is easier said than done.

OC3D coins, to the moon..

Just thinking out loud here, but we could really do with havering a dedicated forum page and maybe an OC3D Mining club where we share ideas, tips and tricks with each other for things such as best community or the best coin to mine.

I also love the idea of having an OC3D coin but I'm not sure how well it would take off as it feels to me atleast that it may seem like a very closed off currency to other people outside of the OC3D community.

Just some of my thoughts.

True, it would kinda limit itself to the OC3D community, the other thing is that there is nothing that would give it value, so long nobody wants it. I doubt it would be a huge thing, but it still could do for a fun experiment ;)

Maybe use a pre-mined proof of stake model, distribute it equally among OC3D users and use it as an internal tipping mechanism. It wouldn't be worth money, but appreciation. By doing it as a proof of stake, we are eliminating the issue of mining / power consumption / eco-unfriendlieness

I really like this idea, I was thinking of an internal currency idea for this but just kind of dismissed it as I thought the idea was silly but hearing is like that makes it sound much better :). I was wondering if there would be a way to tip like they have on reddit for DOGE or it would just be the idea of having them.

EDIT:

My 270x is running the exact clocks as your 270, and pulling somewhere around 390khash @18 int, If it wouldn't be too much trouble could you check if that matches your one, just so I'm sure I'm getting my money's worth..? :)

Yep, I was getting 390kH/s or there abouts. I think we may have had slightly different TC or something like that as I was getting 400-410 kH/s or 18. Try this if you want and you might find yourself with better results:

Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o YOURSTRATUM -u USER -p PASS -w 256 -I 18 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 24000 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 20 --no-submit-stale

Hope this helps.

Ok, the intensity settings are really screwing with me... While using my PC I run a 13 int, which yields around a 350khash, but when not using my PC I like to turn it up to get a higher yield.

Logic dictated that a 20 int would give me the highest khash, but it only gave me 390khash, while a 18 int gave me 410, and a 19 gave me 440.

Bloody well confused now, do these values change due to something, or is the program just b0rked..?

You using version 3.7.2?

I run on I18 personally. I get better accepts to rejects than at I20. What are your other settings?

What does that even mean? Im just cautious because you cant just go chucking the OC3D name on something I have no idea about?

It is like dogecoin is a clone of bitcoin essentially so OC3D coin is just like the dogecoin to bitcoin.

Don't get your hopes to high as I never successfully made a fully functional cloned crypto coin. There are many cloned crypto coins out there that have failed soon after their launch but I will put 100% of my effort into this coin and hopefully It will work and it will get a good start.

edit: TinyTomLogan, can I reference oc3d in the cryptocoin?

Here's my failed attempt at photoshop:

@dale:

Pretty! Whats that in the reflection map tho?

Thanks its just a hdri of the inside of an old building. :p

Dale, I have to say that coin is beautiful!

Thanks :D

I love the blue liquid. I have no idea how you even go about rendering an image from scratch. When you can make amazing things like this, I'm going to have to learn at some point :)

Its easy just dive in and play around with the software, post as much pictures as you can to get feedback, people will nitpick but try to look at it constructively to improve your skills :)

Yeah, 3.7.2.

I'm basically bone-stock, just downloaded the AMD version, and ran it as-is, using afterburner for my OC since that's my standard. It's not like I'm complaining cause 440khash for a 1100mhz 270x isn't exactly shabby as far as I know :P

Do any of you guys know how nvidia's gtx 750 and 750ti are performing in mining applications?

I'm quite curious, given it's increased focus on a low TDP and the fact that Maxwell may be more powerful in mining applications than Kepler was, this card may be able to compete with AMD cards for coin mining.

Might be worth looking into.

750TI gets 263 kh/s, which is very impressive considering that it is an nvidia card and that it only uses 60w
