OC2 Server Upgrade - 03/01

Hi Guys,

Tomorrow at around 12:30pm I will be pulling the plug on our Xeon box (OC2) so that we can upgrade it's storage capacity. The server will be down for pretty much the rest of the day as it is also being re-installed with a different OS.

The following services will be unavailable:

CSS Deathmatch Server (Aim_Texture)

CSS Gungame Server

CSS OC3D Match Server

Overclock3D Uploads (http://upload.overclock3d.net)

The main site will be unaffected as this has been moved to our other server until the OC2 upgrade is complete.

Can I request a few more maps on the gg server specifically? Me and others get a bit bored playing 2 maps over and over, perhaps we could run a poll with potential maps to see which 2 or so come out on top.

As we've said before, its very difficult to find worthwhile gungame maps. The two on there we spent a few hours selecting and testing too see if they worked. Custom maps are generaly a bad idea due to the download time when connecting to the server, hence why we've stuck to aim_ maps.

Good luck on the upgrade XMS, hope it won't take as long as the last one...

Ive contacted Dav0s with some ideas so hopefully they are worth playing. When im on there we seem to lose a lot of players when the same map comes around again. I will tolerate the same map a couple of times but there is a time when i have too much

2x 200gb SATA2 Disks

Install of Windows 2003 Server

Reinstall of above services

OC3D homepage and forums moved back over to server.

OC3D uploads is now back up and running. It should be faster and more reliable than before as the code has pretty much been totally re-written.

Also in the update is the ability to share your files. So items such as funny pictures or the latest game patches can be shared with other members.

The gray0 png opened fine not too sure though, i thought black boxes belonged on aircraft.
