I want to check with all of you on the forums before I proceed. I've overclocked my 4770k to 4.4 for some reason it won't go higher than that, I've played with vcore and it just doesn't want to work. I'm only stable at 4.4ghz with vcore @ 1.3 which seems high to me, since I've seen posts of everybody getting there with less than that. My mobo is the MSI GD65 and I have a HX850 corsair psu. If anybody could help me figure out how to increase it to 4.6 or 4.8 that would be great. I've checked all the guides and everything else online and I don't want to push the vcore over 1.3.... any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong?

i guess LLC is on extreme? XMP profile? you might have just lost the lottery though.

Not every 4770K will clock the same. Some people just get lucky (or speed binned chips).
Others, like us, have to make do.
My 4770K will do 4.4GHz at around 1.25v, but the temperatures (under Prime95) get sorta silly (> 90ºC). So I run at 4.3GHz which I can do at around 1.171v and the temperatures are better.
Would I like to be able to run 4.8GHz at 1.3v with temperatures maxing out around the mid-70s, hell yes! But I've accepted that that isn't gonna happen with my chip.

I'm sure there's a little more tweaking I could do, but I doubt I'd see much return for the extra 100-200MHz for the effort it would take.
