NZXT Switch 810 mod/build log "Sinistar"

At first glance just looking at the pics I couldn't tell what you'd done, had to do a double take, it looks like the case was made that way! Makes me want this as my next case even more! A mini modding guide on how you've altered the front and roof would be sweet!

I did a mod guide for the front panel. Check this out dude http://forum.overclo...-810-mod-guide/ The top was done in much the same way as the front. If you have any other questions just let me know

FINALLY IT HAS ARIVED!!!!! When i ordered this motherboard the store said it was in stock but they LIED!!

I had to wait for a back order shipment but now its HERE!!!! Sorry but im excited lol.

So here it is

And now for a test fit

If not for TTL's video on the NZXT Switch 810 and him showing that a xl-atx mobo would work i wouldnt have bought this motherboard. I was worried about the 4th set of standoffs but it does work out just fine so THANKS TTL.

Yeah im very happy with it. I was worried because i have seen it in other cases and it was a hair away from touching the psu but it works good in the switch.. I get my cpu on Friday so i can start testing and get back to work on the build

That mobo looks very sleek and sexy, liking the all black look with the gloden/bronzy bullets on the heatsink

Im still not sure about them bullets yet. TRYING to keep this all black and white. Was going to buy a Gigabyte z77 ud5 but they had to go with BLUE. I check into getting the blue stipped and anodised black but it was over $160 local and im sure it would have voided the warranty.

Thanks alot for the kind words. I just ordered a NZXT M59 for a new SUPRISE build for my Mom who loves facebook and farmville lol. Its not much just a 3870K APU setup but i have the NZXT M59 for my current case and she always comments on it when she comes over.

Well i got my processors Thursday woohoo.

BUT as i mentioned above i ordered parts to build my Mother a pc and as Mom always comes first i had to build Moms computer before i can get back to work on mine.

So here we go. The Parts list.

Case: NZXT M59. Yes its old and no usb 3 support but Mom likes it

MOBO: ASUS F1A75-V Pro

CPU: AMD A8-3870K <-Overkill for just facebook and browsing but eh

Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB 1600 kit Again overkill but was on sale with a combo $39 us

HDD: WD 1TB Green but had to use a WD 500GB Green because the 1TB was DOA but no biggie

PSU: Rosewill HIVE-550 Modular

This case is tough to cable manage but with a small build it's not that bad

All setup and woking. Just a couple of pic's of the inside.

It's too bad i wasnt able to get blue ram in the combo deal but the red doesn't look that bad and it worked at 1600 right out of the package. Didnt have to mess with manual bios settings like with EVERY Corsair Vengence kit i have ever owned

Now a strip of white LED's on the top and she's all finished

I love what you have done with the case, I'm sorry to say but may have to borrow some of the ideas for my case!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks alot. Although i didnt realy do much besides tidy things up and add a custom LED stip to the top but rock on man. I dont mind when people use my ideas. Infact i love it when people use them and even improve on them. Just makes me want to do it bigger/better the next time around

I actually just signed up on these boards to tell you fantastic job with the intake and roof mods. I have a Switch 810 on the way, and I was thinking of doing this very thing. I'm glad I found your post and your mod guide, they will be very helpful!

One question - could you leave the stock dust filter on the intake panel and still have it look good with the mesh?

Well its all about what YOU think looks good. I removed mine because i didnt like the way it looked and it does restrict air movment. Also it makes the fans a bit louder. I went with a very small mesh to help with dust filtering and bent the mesh around the sides to also help. I have seen 2 other mods done here much like mine but with the dust filter left on and its just not my taste.

Here check these out

They left the filter on so you can get a good look at what it looks like

Finally got my hands on the Switch 810, your mod was the first one I saw that really made me fall for it!

Hope you don't mind me going with the same kind of roof and front panel mods, still got your guide you did for the front bookmarked, hoping to get started on the panels this weekend=)

Go for it dude. Hope you are going to post a build log. I cant wait to see.. My video card should be here on Friday/tomorrow so i should have my rig all finished by Friday night that is if i dont spend all my time playing Guild Wars 2 beta lol.

That fan controller would look so much better modded into one of the original optical bay covers.

The mesh makes me cringe where it doesnt match.

This build needs more updates! BTW, I LOVE the mod you did on the front panel. Those LED's light up the front with subtlety! Great work so far!

I agree it would look better and that was the original plan when i got the sunbeam fan controller but that would leave me with the dvd drive cover showing and i dont like the look of it. The sentry mesh controller didnt match the white of the case but after modding the sunbeam i think the color maches nicely.

Rest asured when i do a full loop it will be in 1 of the bay covers but for now its not in the budget and i have to suffer lol.

Thank you very much.

I was happy with the way that worked out also I put soooooo many led's on that panel I thought it was going to be BLINDING but i think its just right.
