NZXT Phantom 630

I like the layout of this case! 'specially the drive cages o:

Also seems pretty watercooling friendly! This forum is going to hate that window though

I bet they just made a smaller version right after, because they knew people would think it's over priced :L

I wouldn't really say it's affordable...
£160 in the UK,

That's still more than the Stryker and Trooper, and into pricing ranges of Lian Li and Silverstone who don't use any of the cheap plastic construction.

Is it just me, or are cases these days getting unnecessarily expensive?
I'd like to know how NZXT can justify the extra £60 price over the original Phantom. It's not like the material cost is that much more.

Plus - the 410 looks better with the original window, and the original has a side panel available.

Dayum that front intake looks like a fighter jet's turbine intake. Never seen a Phantom case for real before, I kinda like the whole design, but how's that plastic feel? cheap? This is the one Tom reviewed, the one with the extended top mesh he didn't like, I believe.

TTL hasn't reviewed this one yet. The plastic isn't flimsy, I'll tell you that. You could probably beat an unruly wildabeast with it and it would still look great.

Rrright, it was the 820 that he reviewed... not A LOT of difference.
Looks good, I am not a great fan of plastic stuff but this one looks different, good. Like it.

Think of the 630 as a replacement to the original Phantom, which is 3 years old now.

Yeh but replacements aren't usually 60% more expensive?

I get it's a new model and everything, but the only real differences are radiator support and minor aesthetic changes.

I just don't really understand how NZXT can justify the extra cost over the original

I wouldn't say that. There's quite a bit of difference between the two. Motherboard tray SSD mounting, metal ODD latches, Rear I/O LED, 15mm fan/rad support, modular drive layout. The original Phantom MSRP was 139.99 when it launched. This is 179.99 and quite a bit more feature-rich than the previous iteration.

Can't wait to see this one reviewed and see all the new features it has. And then, hopefully, it'll be sold in my country too cause these things are hard to find over here.

Buy it from "le internets"

Well easier said than done. Prices in Europe are higher than US prices... Personally I'd prefer newegg but they only ship in the US. a case like that would be about 20-25% more expensive over here... ordering it from another country in EU, even cheaper would cost me more with all the shipping taxes... So if i'd really want to buy it , i'd wait for it to make its presence in shops, and i do use "le internets" when it comes to ordering components mostly. :)

The 820 is 100X better than the original Phantom........

That said the price stings like a swarm of bee's

Then tell us which one would be the best to get in the 630 review.

I bet I'm not the only one here that wanted the 820 but is now confused which one to actually get.
