NZXT Phantom + 580 GTX SLI = Heat Problem!

So you suggest I buy another psu?

Sorry for not reporting back earlier, I've been real busy.

So I bought a 200MM door fan and my temps are a little better. GPU1 often goes beyond 80°c but it's still better than when it reached 100.

The only problem is that because the NH-D14 is so big and I've mounted a fan on the door, I can no longer close it properly.

The temperatures seem to have improved by quite a margin then. Have you set a fan profile for the new 200mm fan or is it on the default settings? You may be able to improve the temperatures by a few degrees by ramping up the speed of the fan.

No. Could you please tell me how I do that?

Thanks

hunk, can you try something, just take off the side panel and game with it and see what temps you are getting. IF you are getting much better temps with no door then your problem is exhaust and you really need to get more air OUT of ur case. Maybe try reversing the fan on the door too exhaust or get a fan with more cfm for the top/back of the case.

I believe you are still getting random shutdowns? thats what I had and over heating psu fixed it for me most 580sli will work with that ax850 but I also know that it is very marginal in the output vs cosumpion and that is for a std sli gtx 580 set up I believe a bigger psu would fix your problem

but also point out yeah leave the door off see what happens if it solve the problem the yeah maybe it is a air flow problem.

all I can say is I was hitting 90* sometimes sometimes shut down before that but the disciption of your problem is vauge

i swear feznz you are trying to push the idea that he is having the EXACT problem you have, and the PSU is not the problem, sli gtx 580 is about 550w + CPU around 130-145w or OC around 200w and say other peripherals, thats around 700-750w and is enough with an HX850, and corsairs psu can withhold more than what they say, his PSU is fine.

In any case, i would either suggest that maybe take off HDD, get a 140mm for the front, a 20mm thick fan on the side.

But its because your MGPU are too close to each other, either you find a mobo with a big space in between.

If you also have budget, watercooling is an option, but probably last resort if the temp are still not to what you expect.
