NZXT have announced a 120mm based AIO cooler very similar to their flagship models the X41 and X61. The X31 sports a very similar design to the X41 in that its a single fan and radiator setup married to the variable speed pump announced in the X41 and X61.
The usage of the 30mm thick 120mm mount radiator and single fan included in the kit assures that this Kraken can be used in almost any case that has room. The X31 kit comes with the same 400mm length flexible black tubing found on the X41 and X61. This should allow placement in just about any available 120mm fan mounting point be it the roof, back or front of the case. The kit also includes one 120mm NZXT fan optimized for static pressure. In addition the Kraken X31 kit is compatible with the G10 bracket so this unit can be used to cool any G10 compatible GPU.
The pump is a variable speed unit that uses a 3 pin connector for 12 volt power and a USB connection for control. In addition the pump top has the NZXT Hue LED multi-color lighting option to allow lighting it in almost any color.
The NZXT Cam software is included and is used to monitor and control the X31 setup. Color of the Pump top LED, Fan speed and other options are controlled by the CAM software. One nice touch that NZXT have included is that all the cables in the kit are sleeved in black and have black wiring.
Mounting options are included for most any modern CPU socket from Intel and AMD. An interesting note is that the specs mention that it is compatible with 2011-3 sockets. I am wondering if that is the new socket for the X99 platform?
Finally at $79 in the NZXT store, this seems like a very good entry level cooler.
