Nvidia's Titan RTX is now available to purchase

A fool and his money are easily parted.
They charge so much because there is no competition and because they can and do get away with it.

No they charge that much because of professionals who will buy these cards. Who do you think benefits from such a graphics card... Movie industri of course (and others).

I actually think the price is very reasonable for a full fat chip and 24gb of VRAM.

The problem is people are thinking of them as gaming cards but that is not their target market, anyone buying one for just playing games would be very silly indeed.

I ordered four, then realised you can't run Quad SLI so I cancelled the order.*

*not really.

If you had just ordered two you would struggle to get SLI to work, with lack of support it is just as likely you could find nearly as many games that will run in crossfire on the new Titans.:D

My uncle's in a for a surprise when his 2 arrive then ^_^

The Titan RTX is pretty quick even with the standard cooler and stock bios.

Having said that the benches above also show why the 2080 Ti is a much better choice for gaming.

A funny thing is that in pounds it’s at £2,399 on Nvidias own site and that converts to roughly 27 476 kr. And then when I look at my own regional page, it’s sold for 28 490 kr.

That’s roughly £100 that I could save by buying from the brittish page, since both offer free shipping anyway.

Right... You mention that ”the benches above also show why the 2080 Ti is a much better choice for gaming”, yet there’s only benches for the RTX Titan?.

I did not post any 2080 Ti benches as nearly everyone knows their performance.

If both are on air the RTX Titan is about 8% or 9% faster than a 2080 Ti .:)

British VAT is 20%, Swedish VAT is 25%.
[(27,476)/1.2]*1.25 = 28,620 Kr
Technically they're giving you a cheaper price. I guess it's your choice whose government you'd rather send that money to.

If you only knew dude  ^_^...

Ahhh I thought that would have been dealt with by now, this has been going on since september hasn't it?
(just saw the irony of saying that coming from a country who has taken 2 years to decide how we're going to decapitate ourselves and still has absolutely no idea whether we actually want to or why we decided to in the first place)

Unless this has Quadro like features to take advantage of with cad/cam workflows together with, better than 2080Ti gaming experience.

I dont see any place for this card. Unless its for that enormous e-p33n

£1300 extra for 9% more performance on a circuit board, Totally worth it :p

My uncle got his 2 and he's a little underwhelmed to say the least considering the cost.

The extra VRAM would be useful for a few tasks, including development of games where you've got all your debugging/development tools running or uncompressed textures eating extra VRAM, this would help get a little closer to a 2080Ti's performance if testing near RTM software by minimising the impact & making up for it abit in shader performance, while making life easier generally in earlier & less optimised builds & development.

While true we all know many people buying this card are just people who have way too much money and need to have the biggest e-peen around.

Let them.

It's not like Porsches lose their track prowess even if bulk of the cars sold go to acute cases of mid-life crisis.

I've been absent for forever! Too busy with finishing up and starting new biology research. So I missed this launch entirely.

I'm with you and also think this card occupies a strange and non-existent niche. If you're a gamer, go with a Ti (which to me still is a joke). A professional should opt for a Quadro (if too expensive, save up).

I just like to point and laugh, My uncle was a little annoyed that he spent £1300 per card, He got 2, And maybe at best got 7-9% more performance over the already over priced 2080 Ti, Made me giggle ^_^
