Nvidia reportedly cancels their plans for an RTX 4090 Ti

I think it depends on where you live unfortunately. Where I am, 6950XT's have an horrible price tag in comparison to others. You also gotta remember that AMD's does pull a lot more power and hence dissipates a lot more heat, which could be a factor for many now that everything is more expensive, even electricity.

In the UK electricity has gone down in price twice already this year. Apparently it is set to go down further later in the year. The plan on that backfired, as people simply turned things off. As such we ended up with too much power.

Sound familiar? that would be because every one on the planet is trying things like that right now.

The 6000 series were far more efficient than the 30 series. Like, a long way ahead. Which is what people are "upgrading" from here. And in the USA.

I wasn't talking specifically about the UK and electricity, I'm talking globally... and that everyone's wallets, life etc are vastly different.

True, albeit the 4000 series is better in terms of power to efficiency than the 6000 also now so.

Yeah they are better. The big ones still eat power though.

They all do, but from what can be seen, the 4000 series is basically stomping over AMD in the upper class. In the mid range, such as the 4070, they are beyond AMD in terms of efficiency.

I'm not saying this as an Nvidia fan boy or so, just stating facts though.

To be honest, this entire industry stinks at the moment and has for quite some time. Prices across the board are horrible etc.

Yeah but one thing is missing here. The mid range cards are slow.

All mid range cards are efficient. It's because they have tiny dies in. They have cheated the "weight class" as well, releasing cards that should have been a tier or two lower.

So whilst a 4070 seems very power efficient it should have been a 3060 or at best a 3060ti. Not so impressive then is it?

It's still impressive for what it is, as in "what it should have been" isn't the reality of it unfortunately.

Many complain that X should've been X etc etc and while that may be true, it isn't the reality and the world the live in is vastly different from years ago. And it's simply to accept that.

There's nothing anyone can do about this, other than Nvidia and they don't care at all what some users on an forum is posting. They will still get their money, in fact, Nvidia's net worth has sky rocketed with 200% since november.
