Nvidia release 180.48 Drivers

Up to 80% increase in Lost Planet performance !! lol

Interesting read is using a separate card for physx solution, that must be 256m+. Curious cos the old pci physx cards are 128m iirc. Wonder if this is a limitation to the old cards also.

Good call, probably aimed at GTX200+ cards with x58 mainly.

the first lot of physx had 256 but only the 128mb ones are available now, the 256 are like gold dust tbh

So how many people have installed this and their systems just freeze after startup?

ME!!! for one - I've had to go back to 178.28 to stop it happening.

I've just heard rumors loosely wrapped around.. if u tested ur nVidia card with pre-180 drivers - u NEED to try these ones.

Something about major fps improvements across the board. Perhaps with some ATI leaning sites trying 18000x9000 resolutions with 64xaaaa and saying they perform worse than 178.xx. !??!?!!

hehe I dunno, worth a go tho apparently.

Sux Kemp ! Check the system info in the cpl to see if all the component versions are correct (minus the cpl drivers at the bottom).

Chances are these`ll be heavily GT200 biased, with older card "support".

I installed them and I dont even get to desktop. I have 8800GTX in SLi which should be fine. If you do have a simliar problem you need to go into safe mode to remove them so you can go back to the stable version you used before.

Aw my 7900GS canonly get 178.something... it doesn't even play games, but hey, new driver is probably a good thing. 38% in Far Cry 2? Site effect being the game may not actually launch :D

I've noticed this is about 10 times more stable than the 180 betas (.43). I'm loving multi monitor support as well, tho the drivers have killed asus smart doctor :(

The drivers seem to work fine for me but like someone said maybe they are focused on the GT200 series. I only downloaded them to see if it fixed Fallout 3 freezing when I was in buildings.

The 180.43 set kept giving random "critical code modification" type BSODs, with a few BAD_POOL_CALLER etc for good measure.
