Nvidia Price Drops

You have got to love some competition in the marketplace as it allows for some nice price drops.

A lot of news coming from the NVIDIA camp today, including some price drops and price announcements.

First up, the high-powered GeForce GTX 780 is getting dropped from $649 to $499, a $150 savings that will bring the GTX 780 into line with the competition of AMD's new Radeon R9 290X launched last week

Next, the GeForce GTX 770 2GB is going to drop from $399 to $329 to help it compete more closely with the R9 280X.

Now if I personally was not waiting for Maxwell before I upgrade my cards, I would be very interested in the price drops.

Scan and Overclockers have both already dropped some prices, with the Gigabyte 780 Windforce 3X currently selling for £399.19 at Scan

Whilst the Gainward GTX780 Phantom is currently selling for £399.95 at Overclockers

The R9 290X cards at Scan are still around the £485 mark, and at Overclockers they are still around the £430 mark for OCUK branded model.

I wonder if the prices are going to drop even further when the 780ti releases.

Cheapest in-stock 290 on scan is £515 at the minute. I think I might pick me up a couple-o-those 780's at £399!

I don't think you could go far wrong with 2 of the Windforce cards to be honest.

I could next month go for sli'd 780's, or 780ti's or even triple sli 770's but I am waiting for Maxwell.

If I need anymore gpu grunt though I will just pick another 680 and go triple sli, but I don't think I will need it as I am only gaming at 1080p at the moment since 4K monitors are still stupidly expensive.

I just wish my grandad had listened when I told him to wait a month or two before getting me to upgrade, his pc as he could have had a nice 780 instead of a 280x.

Good to see although i can't afford another 780 till like March..

Although i may scrap the surface 2 the misses is getting me for xmas for nother one... hmmm

oh just 2 780's eh , wish i had the money for another.though i dont know if 2 oversized 240 rads, would be enough for 2 780's and a fx 8350

SuB, no! You have so much to live for! Like Maxwell!

I am really going to struggle next month not to buy 2 of these

Seeing as I have done that much overtime this month that this morning I told my manager I had done enough overtime, on Saturday and Sunday to earn myself a nice £460 on top of the rest of overtime I have already done, so in November I am pratically getting paid twice

Already got an EVGA ref 780 and I'd love a second but I thing they'd be too close together so I'd end up having to water-cool them, which I'm keen on the idea of but I think it'd end up being a massive faff - I'm really no expert on water-cooling.

Water cooling is the only way to go, there's no two ways about it ;)

Get those bad boys under water, then stick the sexy reference coolers on your mantel piece as ornaments :D

i hate being in Australia sometimes!!

Makes it even worse when online stores offering good prices don't ship internationally.

Everything I've heard about Australia is negative, It's overpriced, Too hot, Spiders that will actively hunt you to bite you, Animals everywhere that want to rip your face off and the very land itself wants to murder you, On top of that PC prices are seriously retarded.
