Nvidia Kepler

Only thing I would say about this is BF3 doesn't use Physx

Until Nvidia release specs of their cards I ain't believing any leaked benches, the AMD ones were believable because we knew specs and had info on the cards but we don't know anything about Nvidia's cards yet.

Great stuff if they are true though, looks like they are monster cards

I reckon Kepler chips will have a lot more vram, that would account for a significant part of the 50-100% increases in performance.

This is a wild guess, but perhaps the GTR 785 is 2x GTX 770s on a single card? The letter "R" is interesting though.

Looks very promising though, apparently nVidia are aiming for a big increase in performance to watts, so these might run pretty cool as well.

i noticed that when i first saw it too sieb but it being enabled in the control panel is not the same as it being used ingame.

i know of a few things where it being switched off helps performance even tho the bench/game doesnt use it too.

looks promising but as said will wait for specs to be released then pass judgement

kinda puzzled about the physx comment SieB always thought it was there but never really paid attention lmao where'd ya find its not on??

Fair enough, i'm still waiting till we have info on the cards before I believe anything though

AMD or Nvidia doesn't matter to me the only thing that matters to me is which card will offer me the best performance for my money. If thats AMD great if it's Nvidia just as great but the only thing is with AMD we have info on the cards so we can tell whether a benchmark is fake or real or how much it's exaggerated but with Nvidia we have no details on their cards at all.

I just noticed it in the graph and wondered why it was there when BF3 doesn't use it

EDIT Looking around it's definietly not used there are a few partitions to get it added to BF3

Well, if the prices for the 7series are as good as the 5series, then this is going to be an amazing launch if these benches are true!

It is always best to wait for products to be tested by independent third parties, before accepting any claims about performance. Once OC3D has Kepler cards in hand and can run a suite of benchmarks then we will know. Until then, what we do know is that any claims about the Kepler architecture and it's performance are likely to be inaccurate if not made up out whole cloth.

Long and short of the current situation is that at the moment even Nvidia has a lot of incentive to exaggerate Kepler's performance, given that AMD has beaten them to the punch with the HD 7970. Anyone other than Nvidia making claims about Kepler is in all likelihood just a "lying sack of POO". Nvidia is playing Kepler very close to the chest. With good reason I might add, Nvidia needs Kepler to solidify market share in a couple of critical sectors.

I think the performance increase would be more in the 50% range and as always I will wait until the cards specs are announced and some official benchmarks are released. They should still be awesome though

GTX 785 maby:

A full watercooled unit & OC'd version

or

A full chip worth of processing, like I wish there was a GTX 485

or ye a 2 x 770

Glad to see they expect over 2 x processing power of current gen

Theres a really easy way to explain this performance everyone knows that the 7970 has 3gb vram stock they used the 1.5 gb gtx 580 for example in these stats but to be cheeky run it at 2540x1600 what ever said down the side. So they suffering from lack of vram causing lowered FPS.

You'd be surprised at how much VRAM games use. Come back on Monday

Going from high to ultra makes a fair difference though right? I'm a hundred miles away from my desktop so can't check it out myself :/

Dunno, don't have BF3 and don't have a proper CPU either. But even if the difference is _that_ big, it would still be cherry picking, as propably noone would get a 2560 screen with a 560ti.
