Yeah, erm.. don't get to excited about that news. Nvidia has already been found out to be lying and using PR to spread false rumors this week about the "$300 card that is going to beat the 7970."
We also now know those two performance sides that appeared with the cards labeled as 7xx are fake because we now know it's 6xx and not 7xx. Also I find it funny how these "leeks" have all appeared at the time of AMD releasing their new cards or information about them.
The first slide that appeared showing the performance of the "7xx" series appeared when the benchmarks for the 7970 were released.
The second slide showing performance of the "7xx" appeared three days before the launch of the 7970.
A week before the 7950 is released we have Nvidia saying they have a $300 card that will beat a 7970. Not only does that not make any sense it's also been proven to be a lie. It would also affect Nvidia's profit because the 560 ti, 560 ti 448, 570 and 580 would all be outperformed by a card that costs the same or less, so no one would buy any of the 5xx cards and Nvidia would loose thousands in profit.
And, in the same week before the 7950 is released we have this random spokesperson who appears out of no where claiming Nvidia expected more.
I'm not believing anything from Nvidia until they provide legit specs or performance results. At least with AMD we had pics of the cards, we knew specs and we had performance results, if Nvidia has such good cards why don't they prove it.
