Nvidia GTX 1180, 1170 and 1160 release dates leak

If that email is legit it basically confirms everything I said.

Ah well, not getting on the hype train this time. Maybe in a couple of years.

Also confirms what I said months ago that nVidia have 0 reasons to release new cards because they have no need to, there is no competition and the current cards are still selling

yup true. A couple of my mates were actually celebrating because they could get a 1080 for the same price as at launch ffs. That's nothing to celebrate !

I'm so glad I have gone off this stuff. It's not a fun hobby any more. Two years of waiting only to skint yourself out for three months !

The Titan V based on SP performance is about the same as Pascal or putting it another way the difference in performance between a Titan Xp and a Titan V is almost identical to the difference in SP cores (3840 v 5120). Both cards also have very similar clockspeeds when overclocked too.

If NVidia launch their new gaming cards with the same 33% increase in SP cores it will give the same 33% increase in performance over Pascal.

For example we could see a 1180 with around 3400 SP cores replacing the 1080 with 2560 SP cores.

Would be nice and makes sense, Although I'm skipping this batch and waiting for the inevitable 1180 Ti, I want my next GPU upgrade to be a big step over the Titan Xp.

Me too, I'm not even slightly excited about this current batch :)

Pretty sure Nvidia pro marketeers will sway some of you over. This forum has a lot of gullible people, myself included :D

Although in my case, i have 1080ti SLI so there is absolutely no reason for me to bother.

When I buy a GPU, especially a big one it takes me 3 months of saving to pay for. Skint = poor lol.

Don't know why you just dont put money aside consistently so at anytime you can upgrade or replace something faulty without being hard pressed.

Well I have warranty for a certain amount of time so no point. Plus I'm pretty much finished with PC hardware at least for now so there would be no point.

I think we are at a point where competition is stagnant so upgrades are minuscule and unnecessary.

10% increase in performance over predecessors equates to sub 10fps increases.. from Gaming pov. Yet we are willing to drop £300 or so on the product. Stupidity from our part.

I set myself a budget of £5k where I would go balls to the wall. I am almost finished with the 1000D build. And even then I decided that an intel extreme cpu was not required, so my budget is more like £3k. It will tie my over for the next few years. The only thing I may improve is storage.

Back on topic though, these cards given how Nvidia progress, will provide just enough performance to entice people to buy a new card instead of going SLI on previous gen. old tech or not, when GPU prices drop, SLI can be a tempting direction instead of dropping £500+ on a new card.
