Nvidia GTX 1180, 1170 and 1160 release dates leak

Thought you were skipping on these cards since you had the SW XP? ;)

IF these rumours are true then the 1180 Ti which will probably come out in 12 months should be quite a bit faster than a Titan Xp, If it's at least 40% faster then it's an instant buy for me, If not then I'll wait for the series after that.

If that email is legit it basically confirms everything I said.

Ah well, not getting on the hype train this time. Maybe in a couple of years.

Interesting. I will wait and see what happens. Still got my 980ti under water and don't feel the need to upgrade just yet (1440p HFR) but if the performance and 4k monitors match up next year I could be persuaded...

Really 40% faster is the estimate? That's a massive performance increase!

I don't see how it can be that much faster than a Titan V. /logic and all.

Maybe, just maybe, if they take away the HBM it will clock higher. Maybe.

But it's going to be full fat Volta or there abouts. It can't be any more than that.

Titan Xp, Not Titan V ^_^

Titan V is around 25% faster than a Titan Xp.

EDIT

Nevermind, Just got your comment, Lack of coffee :D

Derpa derp.

The Titan V, ATM, is about 25% faster than the Xp. As such I was saying that it can't be any faster than that, and thus I can't see it being 40% faster.

How can it be 15% faster than the Titan V, is what I am saying when essentially it will be a Titan V, using Volta.

You did a lot of saying in this short saying of a post ^_^

Hehe and here we go again... Instant Manic Upgrade Syndrome activated! Well perhaps not so much as I feel my GTX 1080 Ti is already doing a splendid job even on my 21:9 3440x1440p screen. So far only one game has brought it to its knees which is Kingdom Come: Deliverance. But no wonder, that game does after all use the Crysis engine and I doubt a 1180 will solve that problem.

I want at least a 40-50% performance increase from my Titan Xp which basically ensures I have to wait until the 1200 series which I have no problem with ^_^

The only way they will do that is to remove the precision stuff for deep learning, and theoretically up the clocks by a ton. And then the thing is? it won't be much good for Ray Tracing and ETC.

Also, I heard a rumour the other week that the 1180 (non Ti) could cost as much as $1500. Whether it's true or not? gawd knows. One thing I do know is that each time Nvidia release a new tech it gets more and more silly.

And then we come back to how much the Titan V was held back because it was on the same old air cooler they have been using for years now.

Either way I am so delighted with my One X that I really couldn't even give a toss. 28 hours into FO4 over the past 11 days, loved every minute.

The Titan V based on SP performance is about the same as Pascal or putting it another way the difference in performance between a Titan Xp and a Titan V is almost identical to the difference in SP cores (3840 v 5120). Both cards also have very similar clockspeeds when overclocked too.

If NVidia launch their new gaming cards with the same 33% increase in SP cores it will give the same 33% increase in performance over Pascal.

For example we could see a 1180 with around 3400 SP cores replacing the 1080 with 2560 SP cores.
