If you have a 908ti I personally would wait for "next gen after pascal" I would not think there is going to be a significant performance increase this time round I would suspect it would be more efficiency and power draw but I am only speculating
Depends on games and engine etc but, AMD are not as far behind nVidia as some people think.
Personally I have not used a AMD card since the 8800 series nVidia cards but, I know people who have them and have, put them in relatives pc's because of the performance they offer the price.
It will be interesting to see how this next lot of cards perform.
HBM has nothing to do with the fact the Fury X is slower.. it's just that. Slower. AMDs issue is they aren't as CPU optimized as Nvidia's drivers. So in DX11, where CPU headroom is already limited to mostly 1 core(2 threads) they suffer performance. Even though they already aren't that far behind with the FX. That is why in DX12 they get a huge increase in performance as games as devs aren't as limited with there threads. Asnyc compute realistically only gives them 5-10% increase according to a game dev(think one from Hitman), the rest is just it being able to stretch it's legs. Just goes to show AMD need more work on there drivers CPU performance wise.
